The soldiers trembled as they stared at the pale figure floating in the air. They could barely hold on to their weapons. "The Count... is a Vampire?"
Even Lord Raven, who had slain countless otherworldly foes and won glory in battle, had joined the enemy. Could they possibly escape alive?
"I told you, call me Duke!"
The Vampire Duke waved a hand impatiently. Blood drained from everyone around him until they became shriveled husks.
The blood did not go to waste. As if it had a mind of its own, it gathered above the Duke's head into a massive crimson sphere.
"If I were still human, casting a spatial spell over an area this large would probably drain my Magic Power on the spot and leave me a dried-up corpse."
"But now that I've become a Vampire, I can use blood in place of Magic Power." With that, the Vampire Duke began chanting.
