Deity Invocation.
As the most advanced spell in the Paranormal Universe, it had taken even the Daoist priest, a prodigy who could conjure Heavenly Thunder with his bare hands in an age when magic had died out, a full year just to get his foot in the door.
The reason it was so difficult to learn was that every deity required different incantations, hand seals, ritual implements, and offerings. Even the same deity could be invoked in different ways.
Guan Yu, whom Chen Feng was invoking, had at least three different invocation methods.
Volume 260 of the Collected Essentials of Daoist Rituals recorded that the invoker had to establish a formation of water and fire, form the Ziwei Seal with his left hand, perform the Thunder Formation with his right, then put his hands on his hips and shout the incantation.
"So he's invoking Lord Guan. Is this kid going to start with 'By the Northern Emperor's supreme command, subdue the nine heavens with might'?"
"Or will he recite the incantation Lord Guan used to slay the flood dragon: 'God of earth, God of earth, make haste and commune with spirits'?"
The Daoist priest was confident that no matter how Chen Feng invoked the deity, he would recognize the incantation immediately and point out any grammatical errors.
But the moment Chen Feng opened his mouth, he said, "Bro Yu, log in. You play this round."
Fuck! This savage has lost his mind.
The Daoist priest shouted, "There's no such incantation!"
But just because you couldn't do it didn't mean the method was wrong.
Only a second passed before Chen Feng began swaying his head. Blood surged upward, turning his entire face a deep date-red. Even his clothes began to shine, as though coated in golden light.
That worked too?
