Power Progression
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Street-Burst Rank | 156 | Chen Feng’s appraisal establishes his initial documented rank. He already possesses multiple domains. |
| Strong Street-Burst Rank | 168 | Advances during the three-month preparation period. Develops the sixth domain, Domain of Slashing, for his rematch with Savior. |
| City-Burst Rank | 234 | Documented baseline before his major Superpower breakthrough; the intervening advancement is not described. Sacrificing beef increases his strength by approximately 5% without changing his tier. |
| Surface-Burst Rank | 234 | Uses Power Borrowed by Abandoning What One Clings To to permanently give up sweets. A bullet that previously wounded him now bounces off his face. |
| Lower-end Star-Burst Rank | 253 | Drains and refines Hundred-Ton King’s Fortune using Mu Hao’s All Under Heaven Return to One Talisman. |
| Giant Power amplification — rank unstated | 274 275 | Acquires Red Giant’s emotion-driven Giant Power during his raid on the Four Great Corporations. His persistent confidence allows him to blow apart three powerful Star-Burst fighters with a single breath. |
Appearance
- Hair: Short silver-white hair 157.
- Eyes: Pale blue, normally concealed by a blindfold 156 157.
- Clothing: A black uniform 157.
- Battle damage: His first assault on the Flesh Willow leaves his uniform torn, hair bloodied, and blindfold missing 157.
- Flattened condition: Hundred-Ton King reduces him to a living, paper-thin figure; he remains able to speak and complain 237 241.
Personality
The Sorcerer sincerely believes he is the strongest, rather than merely using arrogance to provoke opponents. The Truth-or-Dare System does not expose his boasts as lies: he genuinely considers defeated opponents “trash” and attributes his own losses to carelessness, lag, an off day, or rounds that should not count 243 275.
His pride frequently obstructs teamwork. He threatens to attack Chen Feng if he interferes in his duel with Savior, rejects a coordinated ambush, and later walks openly into Heavy Machinery headquarters while announcing his teammates’ names and objectives. Nevertheless, he honors his alliance with Chen Feng by assisting against the Flesh Willow and accepting the dangerous mission into City World’s past 156 158 168 234 271.
His carefree manner conceals practical caution. In one failed future, he keeps a thin Domain of Void active above his skin to guard against surprise attacks. He also shows moral hesitation about killing people before they become monsters and becomes protective toward Thunder Time King when the boy can no longer transform 257 268 271.
The Pure Compound amplifies his arrogance and taste for humiliating pranks. Rather than simply finishing the Heavy Machinery Heroes, he uses Cursed Speech to make them lose control of their bowels and threatens an even more degrading command 235.
Abilities & Skills
Cursed Energy and Jujutsu
Jujutsu extracts Cursed Energy from negative emotions and channels it into physical attacks, weapons, puppets, energy waves, or sound 156 158.
- Revealing abilities: Explaining his techniques increases their strength; Chen Feng can assist by supplying explanations from the sidelines 156 253.
- Incantation-free casting: He can expand a domain without chanting. His habit of shouting move names is a preference, not an unavoidable weakness 257.
- Physical reinforcement: Cursed Energy can strengthen his fists and support direct shock-wave attacks 156 158.
- Domains: His barriers function as Small Worlds whose rules can override outside effects, including Savior’s evasion Blessings 158 253.
Domains
He initially demonstrates five domains, later adds the Domain of Slashing, and reports possessing “six and a half domains” at Heavy Machinery headquarters 153 168 234.
| Domain | Applications | Limits and counters |
|---|---|---|
| Domain of Fire | Produces flames capable of reigniting the Flesh Willow’s branches 158. | Savior withstands its fire through resistance 158. |
| Domain of Water | Uses Cursed Energy to repair his body, including wounds that split him in half 234. | Savior’s revival-preventing Blessing stops its resurrection attempts from completing after their first duel 159. |
| Domain of Gambling | Gives a 50% chance of becoming invincible for four minutes and eleven seconds 156. | Activation can fail. Chen Feng identifies Savior’s misfortune Blessing as a likely cause of repeated failures during their duel 158. |
| Domain of Shadow | Creates doubles that absorb damage and allows him to exchange places with shadows 156 235. | Savior identifies and attacks the real Sorcerer among his shadows during their first duel 158. |
| Domain of Void | Overwhelms approaching minds with useless information. Later analysis also identifies an infinite-distance effect that slows approaching objects 158 273. | Savior clears the harmful information with his Single-Mindedness Blessing. As a Closed Domain, it can be destroyed by sufficient force 158 274. |
| Domain of Slashing | Indiscriminately strikes living targets inside it with sure-hit Spatial Slashes 168 235. | Allies entering it would also be attacked. Savior’s enlarged imitation of Spatial Slash destroys the domain during their rematch 168. |
The Domain of Void also provides information, though it fails to identify Chen Feng as the source of time rewinds. In the bonus story, it is used to erase the narrator’s memory of a dangerous incantation 157 336.
Challenger Domain — “You Are the Challenger”
Anyone he considers an enemy he has defeated becomes an object, also described as a Noble Phantasm, through which he can temporarily use that opponent’s abilities 252 262.
- Duration: Picking up an object grants its associated abilities for one minute 252.
- Power scaling: Borrowed abilities operate at the Sorcerer’s own strength rather than the original owner’s level 252.
- Sure Hit: The domain adds a guaranteed-hit effect to borrowed abilities 252.
- Subjective victory: Mu Hao’s staged defeat qualifies because the Sorcerer believed he had won 253.
- Partial victories: Taking Evil Savior’s first life qualifies, despite Savior’s subsequent resurrection 253.
- Enemy requirement: Defeating Chen Feng in a friendly spar produces no new object because the Sorcerer does not regard him as an enemy 262.
- World-law bypass: Its Small World permits him to use cultivation powers otherwise incompatible with City World 253.
- Open Domain: He describes Challenger as an Open Domain that cannot be destroyed, contrasting it with the destructible Domain of Void 274.
- Cooldowns: Borrowed powers can become unavailable after use; Chen Feng restores used objects through time reversal before the mission into the past 257 271.
Documented Borrowed Powers
| Source | Object / medium | Abilities used |
|---|---|---|
| Saturn | Yellow glass marble; later called the Saturn item 252 271. | Earth-Shaping Technique, enormous earth dragons, and stone minions 252 271. |
| Six Paths Ninja | Shuriken 253. | Substitution Technique, replacing his body with a piece of wood 253 274. |
| Evil Savior | Demon Sword 271. | Evasion, imitation, resurrection and revenge Blessings; demonic identity allowing travel through Subspace 253 270 273 274. |
| Mu Hao | Immortal Sword and access to his talismans 253 271. | All Under Heaven Return to One Talisman, used to drain Hundred-Ton King’s Fortune 253. |
| Hundred-Ton King | Steel Coil 269. | Dimensionality Strike, demonstrated against the Hunger Monster in a Simulator scenario 269. |
| Popeye the Strongman | Can of spinach 257. | Rebuilds his destroyed body after he is reduced to a mouth in a failed future 257. |
| Red Giant | Not specified 274 275. | Primal Giant Power, which changes combat strength according to confidence and other emotional fluctuations 275. |
Spatial Techniques
- Cursed Spatial Slash: Severs space itself and deals defense-ignoring true damage. It cuts Savior, Saturn, and Venus in half 158 235.
- Concentrated destructive force: At Street-Burst Rank, he concentrates street-destroying Cursed Energy into a knife-sized slash to threaten opponents above his rank 168.
- Distorting Fist: Combines physical force with Cursed Energy to distort space. It counters Hundred-Ton King’s flattening strike by forcing the affected space back into three dimensions 247 252.
- Spatial compression: Identified by Space God as another of his spatial abilities 274.
- Dimensional manipulation: Flattens Word Spirit God’s cannon blast into a “painting,” then restores and redirects it into other enemies 273.
- Counterexample: Hundred-Ton King knocks aside his Spatial Slash before flattening him, showing that the technique does not guarantee victory 237.
Cursed Speech
Cursed Speech imbues sound with Cursed Energy to control an opponent’s actions 158 235.
- Combat commands: Immobilizes Savior and interrupts Armor God’s transformation by making him drop his key 158 274.
- Humiliation: Forces the Heavy Machinery Heroes to lose bowel control 235.
- Strength limitation: It is less effective against much stronger targets 235.
- Backlash: Against comparable opponents, more damaging commands cause greater backlash 235.
- Hearing counter: Armor God deafens himself to prevent further verbal interruptions 274.
Power Borrowed by Abandoning What One Clings To
Awakened by the Pure Compound, this Superpower borrows strength from the future in exchange for permanently surrendering something meaningful 234.
- Value determines reward: Giving up beef provides little power because he rarely eats it; sacrificing his lifelong love of sweets causes a major rank breakthrough 234.
- Failed exchange: Offering the Domains of Fire, Shadow, Water, and Gambling is insufficient to complete his half-finished domain 252.
- Interruption risk: In a failed future, Cosmic Overlord attacks before he can finish a bargain to abandon arrogance 257.
- Emergency use: Against the Two-Headed Birdman, he proposes giving up arrogance, jujutsu, his life after the battle, and companionship after death. The Birdman stops him before the bargain is completed 276.
Substitute — Ugly Freak
Ugly Freak is a humanoid Substitute dressed in loud, mismatched colors that makes nearby living things ugly 261.
- Its uglification affects the Hunger Monster in a Simulator scenario, helping establish that the monster cannot devour abilities it cannot touch 269.
Defensive Rule Manipulation
- Time Stop resistance: A thin Domain of Void excludes an enemy Time Stop in a failed future; he then expands his domain to free the others 257.
- Divination interference: That same defensive layer disrupts India’s divination 257.
- Resurrection and reflection: While borrowing Evil Savior’s powers, he repeatedly revives at full health and reflects the killing blow onto its source 273 274.
- Deliberate death: Drops his defenses under Mecha God’s gravity attack so the resulting reflected damage destroys the enemy and its machine 274.
- Limits of evasion: Psychic God and Armor God overcome favorable attack-miss probabilities through enormous numbers of attack checks 273 274.
- Limits of reflection: Armor God’s completed armor withstands his Revenge Blessing without damage 274.
Equipment / Items
- Blindfold — His usual eye covering; he removes it when becoming serious in a failed future 156 257.
- Pure Compound — Given to him by Chen Feng and injected during the Heavy Machinery assault to awaken his sacrifice-based Superpower 226 234.
- Challenger objects — Temporary manifestations granting defeated enemies’ powers, including swords, a marble, a shuriken, spinach, and Steel Coil 252 253 257 269 271.
- Evil Savior’s Demon Sword — Used during his temporary Evil Savior state to kill Space God and sever the Divine Gear User’s ability-eroding tentacles 274.
Background / History
Instructor at the Fourth Mental Hospital
The Sorcerer takes over the Fourth Mental Hospital and uses its school as a base, recruiting talented students to learn jujutsu. He confronts Mu Hao for refining living people into pills and apparently defeats him, though Mu Hao survives and threatens revenge. The apparent victory later becomes a qualifying defeat for Challenger Domain 153 154 253.
Alliance Against the Flesh Willow
Chen Feng recruits him to attack the Flesh Willow. Before agreeing, the Sorcerer tests Chen Feng in a mock battle outside the city, demonstrates several domains, and trades boasts and deceptive explanations with him. During the actual assault, he weakens the Willow’s ability-stealing branches long enough for Chen Feng to reach its heart 156.
He subsequently reaches the core himself, battered and exhausted, and encounters Savior alongside Chen Feng. Savior’s disclosures reveal that Chen Feng causes the time rewinds—information the Sorcerer’s Domain of Void had not supplied 157.
Duels with Savior
In their first duel, the Sorcerer combines Cursed Speech, domains, and Spatial Slash to cut Savior in half. Savior’s Revenge Blessing inflicts the same wound on him, and a revival-preventing Blessing obstructs his recovery. After Chen Feng reloads, he receives a glimpse of the defeat, insists he can win next time, and escapes through his domain 158 159.
He abandons his school base to avoid Savior and returns stronger after three months. His new Domain of Slashing wounds Savior, and he finishes the first life with an ordinary Cursed Energy attack to avoid reflecting Spatial Slash onto himself. Savior revives and destroys him with an enlarged imitation of the technique; the Sorcerer nevertheless reappears among the spectators during Jing Longri’s duel 168 169.
Mu Hao later summons him, Savior, and Jing Longri through marks left during earlier battles. Mu Hao immobilizes the Sorcerer and drains Fortune, revealing that his previous losses were part of a trap 179 253.
Heavy Machinery and Hundred-Ton King
During the Heavy Machinery assault, the Sorcerer disregards Chen Feng’s stealth plan and challenges more than twenty top-tier Heroes through the front entrance. After being shot, he injects the Pure Compound and sacrifices sweets for Surface-Burst strength. His domains and humiliating Cursed Speech commands drive the Heroes away 234 235.
He then underestimates Hundred-Ton King and is flattened. Another challenge, encouraged by Xiaoji’s incorrect advice, ends similarly; Chen Feng stops time and evacuates him with the rest of the team 237 241.
In their later confrontation, he counters King’s dimensional attacks, uses Challenger Domain to borrow evasion and imitation Blessings, and flattens King with his own technique. Instead of trying to kill the exceptionally durable fighter, he drains his Fortune and reaches the lower end of Star-Burst Rank 252 253.
Rewriting City World’s History
Chen Feng identifies Evil Savior’s demonic nature as a route through Subspace into the past. He restores the Sorcerer’s borrowed abilities, while Duanmu Kai protects the body left in the present. The mission ultimately targets May 20, 2101, twenty years earlier, when Angel and God’s S1 counterpart are fighting on the moon 270 271.
The Sorcerer raids corporate resources, locates Silver, and reaches the moon with forty seconds remaining. Facing fourteen god-clones, he declines to prioritize rescuing Angel and instead uses borrowed Blessings, substitution, spatial manipulation, and resurrection to defeat the clones. Red Giant’s Giant Power supplies the decisive escalation 271 273 274 275 276.
God’s death in the past rewrites the City Universe’s history and prevents many subsequent disasters. On his return through Subspace, the Sorcerer is intercepted by the Two-Headed Birdman and eight Greater Daemons, but Chen Feng’s connections to the War Marshal and Lord secure his passage. Angel and the others thank him for saving their world and family members; Angel then leaves its protection to him 276 277.
Relationships
- Chen Feng — Ally and friend beneath constant insults. Chen Feng recruits him, rescues him, strengthens his techniques through commentary, resets his borrowed abilities, and secures his passage through Subspace 156 241 253 262 271 276.
- Evil Savior / Robert Astraea — Rival whose first life he takes twice. Those victories grant access to the Blessings and demonic identity central to his later successes 158 168 253 270.
- Mu Hao — Enemy condemned for refining people into pills. Mu Hao’s feigned defeat and later Fortune-draining ambush ultimately give the Sorcerer access to valuable cultivation powers 153 179 253.
- Jing Longri — Fellow ally against Savior. The Sorcerer defends Jing after Savior wins through a dishonorable attack, arguing that the loss should not count 169.
- Hundred-Ton King — Repeated opponent who initially flattens him. The Sorcerer later reverses the matchup and strips away his Fortune 237 241 253.
- Thunder Time King / Duanmu Kai — A rival while transformed and a boy he protects afterward. Duanmu guards his present-day body during the mission into the past 268 271.
- Red Giant — Opponent during the corporate raid and source of the Giant Power used against God’s incarnations 274 275 276.
- Angel, Rhodes, Roman, and Gold — Beneficiaries of the rewritten timeline who thank him for saving City World and their relatives 277.
- Two-Headed Birdman — Powerful prophetic figure who knows his secret name and records his past and future. Allows him through Subspace after receiving outside intervention 276.

Trivia
- Prophetic future: The Two-Headed Birdman’s book predicts that Gojo Deer will protect the City Universe, study his remaining half-domain, and later help Chen Feng seize Spacetime Divinity in Universe 42. These are predictions, not all confirmed events in the supplied context 276.
- Bonus-story version: In Cihang Grand Theater, he is the reader-narrator’s main combat asset and erases dangerous memories. He is later killed when the Dog and the Five Freaks’ forces overwhelm the team, with Word-Makes-Reality preventing him from borrowing power 336.
