Clang, clang, clang, clang!
Shamon braced both arms, holding his broad Sand Shinobi Scimitar firmly against the edge of Hanzō's Scythe. Rain streamed down both weapons, scattering into tiny droplets. In the dim, rain-soaked light, the blue snake tattoo atop Shamon's head looked increasingly ferocious.
His eyes stayed locked on Hanzō. With a slight twist of his wrist, his blade scraped along the Scythe's edge and slashed viciously toward Hanzō's wrist.
A cold gleam flashed through Hanzō's indifferent eyes. He snapped his wrist, pulling the chain taut. Driven by its tension, the Scythe swung sharply sideways, knocking Shamon's scimitar away. The chain rattled as Hanzō used the recoil to pivot sideways, sweeping the Scythe's trailing end toward Shamon's waist.
Shamon lightly pushed off the muddy ground with his toes and retreated half a step, narrowly avoiding the strike. His other hand swiftly formed hand seals, and a Wind Blade gathered at his fingertips.
"Wind Release: Wind Blade!" With Shamon's low shout, a blue-green blade of wind as thin as a cicada's wing shot out. Rather than aiming at Hanzō, it flew diagonally toward several Amegakure ninja nearby. They had paid little attention to Hanzō and Shamon's battle and were preparing to ambush other Sand Ninja. The Wind Blade closed in before they could dodge, slicing through their bodies. Blood gushed out, and they collapsed heavily into the muddy water, never to rise again.
Hanzō caught sight of it, but it was already too late to intervene. His expression turned icy as he said coldly, "Shamon, you old bastard! How dare you ambush my men right in front of me, you treacherous snake! You're a disgrace to the great nations' ninja."
Shamon sneered disdainfully and mocked him. "Heh... war is war. Did you think this was some children's game of ninja?
