Background and History

Lin Yuan grows up without anyone to depend on. After his awakening, Su Yuntao gives him a work-study place at Nuoding Academy and ten Gold Soul Coins. Lin Yuan refuses Yu Xiaogang’s offer of discipleship and enters Dorm Seven, where he later defends the work-study students against Xiao Chenyu’s group 3 4 14.

To afford the Gugas’ enormous appetite, he opens Guga Milk Tea with Su Yuntao. The business expands rapidly, but Nuoding City Lord Xiao Zhan tries to seize its recipe and ambushes him. Lin Yuan escapes to the Star Luo Empire, concluding that wealth alone cannot keep him safe 15 16 19.

He rebuilds the business with the Breaking, Speed, and Defense Clans. Their partnership grows into Linyuan Pavilion, based at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well in Sunset Forest. The clans pledge their loyalty, Dugu Bo becomes an elder, and Lin Yuan later secures an alliance with the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 20 25 53 60.

Lin Yuan captains Linyuan Academy’s tournament team and recruits further allies, including the Elephant Armor Sect. After conflict with Spirit Hall, Linyuan Pavilion takes control of Heaven Dou Imperial City; Lin Yuan leaves its administrative affairs to Ning Fengzhi 79 84 103 120 121.

Personality

Lin Yuan is protective of the Gugas and his friends, but does not avoid force when they are threatened. He defends Guga from Yu Xiaogang, helps Xiao Wu protect her identity, and reassures Zhu Zhuqing that her family cannot compel her to return 3 48 97.

He plans for long-term strength: he delays a Soul Ring to strengthen the Gugas, turns his business into a clan partnership, and uses Immortal Herbs to build alliances. His composure often comes with teasing or provocation, from joking during arena matches to taunting Yu Xiaogang and stronger opponents 25 38 60 66 104.

Lin Yuan’s external Summoning Type Martial Soul produces multiple Gugas with distinct abilities. They can cultivate independently, strengthening themselves and sending some Soul Power to him; their Soul Rings can also grow stronger over time 16 23 134.
