Lightning Release: Chidori

The wolf's eyes glinted with a savage green glow in the darkness.

Unlike humans, werewolves' eyes were adapted to catch faint light, allowing them to see clearly even in the dark.

Besides that, they possessed senses of smell and hearing far beyond those of humans.

Of course, such superhuman senses could sometimes become weaknesses.

Like now.

"Close your eyes!" Kyle threw a cylinder riddled with holes at the distant werewolf.

Nine-Flash, Bomb!

A blinding flash erupted at the werewolf's feet, accompanied by an ear-splitting blast. The distant werewolf clutched its head in agony, collapsing to the ground and howling without pause.

A sharp arrow pierced its head, ending its howls. The smell of blood spread through the dark forest.

Kyle, who had not had time to cast Earth Spear, silently cursed Hagrid for stealing his kill.

Howls rang out from the distance again—and there was more than one. Judging by their distance and direction, at least four or five werewolves nearby were answering their companion's call.

"Move!" Hagrid slung his bow onto his back, grabbed George and Fred, one in each hand, and sprinted toward the edge of the Forbidden Forest in great strides.

Kyle raced through the trees behind the three of them. The crisscrossing, tangled branches posed no great obstacle to him.

But their luck did not last long. Less than five minutes had passed between killing the first werewolf and encountering another.

The encounter was so sudden that Hagrid and the others were less than twenty meters from the werewolf.

At that distance, Kyle had no way to use a flashbang and work with Hagrid to kill it as before.

The black shadow rapidly grew larger. Hagrid flung the two Weasley boys aside in opposite directions and resolutely stood before the werewolf.

At this distance, he could even smell the bloody stench coming from the werewolf's gaping maw.

Hagrid roared, his footsteps pounding like drumsticks and making the ground rumble. His enormous fist carried tremendous momentum as it smashed toward the werewolf's forehead.

The werewolf's sharp claws raked down toward Hagrid's arms, but Hagrid continued swinging his fist without hesitation.

Claws and fist struck their targets at the same time. Blood sprayed from Hagrid's arm, while the charging werewolf was driven straight into the ground by the half-giant's punch.

"Earth Release: Earth Spear!" Kyle slammed both hands together. Sharp stone spikes burst from the ground, instantly launching the werewolf embedded in the earth more than ten meters away. Whether it was dead or alive was unknown.

Nearby, George and Fred, who had fallen after being tossed aside by Hagrid, stared blankly at Hagrid and Kyle defeating another werewolf together. Their faces were full of disbelief.

Kyle was that strong?

Hagrid turned to look at the brothers, who were still frozen in place. Just as he was about to urge them to get up and run, he saw a third werewolf appear behind George at some point. His expression changed drastically.

"George!" Fred's eyes nearly split open as he watched the werewolf raise its claws at George.

Hagrid lunged toward George like a madman, but there was simply not enough time. The werewolf's claws were already swinging down.

In that instant, a tremendous noise suddenly rang out through the Forbidden Forest, like the cries of a thousand birds.

George's vision abruptly filled with blue-white lightning. A sudden gale tousled the bangs on his forehead before stopping as abruptly as it had begun.

The cries of a thousand birds vanished, leaving only heavy breathing behind George.

George stiffly turned his head. Kyle, who had been standing in the tree moments ago, had somehow appeared behind him. His right hand had pierced through the chest of the werewolf that had attacked him.

Lightning Release: Chidori!

Kyle painfully pulled his right hand from the werewolf's chest. The rubber glove he had been wearing had melted and fused to his arm.

He did not even need to look to know that his right hand must look horrifying now.

After discovering that forming Chidori burned his hand, Kyle had thought of using insulated gloves to block the current.

The insulated gloves had provided some protection, allowing Kyle to form a complete Chidori.

But they could not block the intense heat generated by the concentrated electrical charge. He had not considered that before, since he had never tested it.

Still, the situation had been urgent. Even if it meant burning his right hand to a crisp, Kyle could not stand by and watch George die before his eyes.

"Kyle! Kyle! Are you okay?" George and Fred rushed over in a panic.

Kyle stopped them with his uninjured left hand, preventing them from touching his badly burned right hand.

"I'm fine! Hiss... I can still walk."

Rustling came from the surrounding woods. The faint glow of Lumos illuminated Hagrid's utterly grim face.

Another four werewolves emerged from the bushes, surrounding the four of them from different directions.

For a moment, it felt as though an iron claw had suddenly gripped their hearts.

A wand appeared in Kyle's uninjured left hand. He held it level and turned in a circle.

Grindelwald Gas Stove!

With his movement, roaring flames ignited around them, encircling them and temporarily separating them from the werewolves.

Kyle leaned wearily against Hagrid.

Tears continuously welled from Hagrid's eyes and ran into his bushy beard.

"I hope Fang can find the professor and bring help, or how could I ever face Professor Dumbledore!" Hagrid's voice trembled with tears.

Kyle patted Hagrid's leg and forced himself to speak through the pain. "Instead of wasting your energy crying, help me make this ring of fire bigger. I can't keep it up much longer."

Hearing Kyle's words, Hagrid hurriedly pulled out a small pink umbrella. George and Fred raised their wands as well.

"Incendio!"

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"

The wind fed the flames. Under the effect of the Wind Release, the ring of fire instantly spread in all directions, swallowing the surrounding trees.

Forced back by the blazing inferno, the werewolves retreated. For the moment, they were safe.

"Water Release: Water Formation Wall!" Kyle slapped his left hand against the ground, and a ring of water surged up from the earth, blocking the scorching heat of the flames.

Kyle dropped onto the ground and gasped for breath.

Casting three techniques in succession while enduring his injuries was still far too much for him.

He was a ninja, sure, but that did not mean he was good at enduring pain.

He had never been injured in battle before. This was his first time facing such intense pain, the searing sensation constantly assaulting his nerves.

It was already remarkable that he had not passed out from the pain.
