June was the final month of the Hogwarts school year, and all students faced a hellish trial—the final exams.
Of course, finals had nothing to do with Kyle for the time being. He had not even enrolled yet; his first final exam would not come until next June.
That was why, while every student was taking exams, Kyle was leisurely riding a hippogriff around the Forbidden Forest.
Meanwhile, Cedric and the Weasley Twins were not doing so well.
History of Magic that afternoon was their final exam.
Under the guidance of a certain troublemaker, they were already showing early symptoms of needing Professor Yang's electrotherapy.
During countless days and nights without classes, the three of them had holed up in Kyle's suitcase, wasting their time in the arcade and shooting range.
For classes like Transfiguration, Charms, and Potions, they still did not dare slack off under the professors' strict supervision.
But for a class like History of Magic, where the professor did not even remember the students' names, the three of them had completely let themselves go.
So when it came time for the History of Magic exam today, they could only grit their teeth and go in after cramming for two days. They had no idea whether Hogwarts even had such a thing as failing a class.
After Kyle had drunk who knew how many cups of black tea in Hagrid's hut, the bell announcing the end of the exams finally rang from the distant castle. The students' cheers could be heard even inside Hagrid's hut.
Kyle stood up and said goodbye to Hagrid.
He had arranged with the Weasley Twins and Cedric to climb over the wall and head to Hogsmeade together after their exams.
Uh... the reason they had to climb over the wall was because...
During a previous weekend, they had secretly slipped into Hogsmeade, only to run straight into Dumbledore as he came out of the Three Broomsticks Bar.
What had enraged Dumbledore was not that they had snuck out without permission, but the alcohol they were carrying from the Hog's Head Bar.
And so, the four of them met a tragic end.
Not only had Dumbledore confiscated the alcohol in their hands, but he had also sealed Kyle's wine cellar. In his fury, Dumbledore had not even spared the secret passages leading from Hogwarts to Hogsmeade.
Of course, none of that could stump Kyle, who had been highly experienced at climbing walls to skip school and go online in his previous life.
If they could not use the secret passages, was Dumbledore really going to put a barrier around the entire massive perimeter of Hogwarts?
So their method of getting out changed from using secret passages to climbing walls.
This method of sneaking out caught Dumbledore completely off guard.
Kyle soon found the other three waiting for him near the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
After meeting up, the four quickly crossed the sunlit grassland and arrived at the stone wall surrounding the castle.
Kyle glanced at the tall stone pillars on either side of the school's main gate in the distance, each topped with a winged boar, then looked away and turned to the others. "Let's go."
He took the lead and charged at the stone wall blocking their way. He ran up the four- or five-meter wall, then, after a few steps, leaped and twisted through the air before landing outside the thick stone wall.
After learning how to climb trees and run on water, even the dozens-of-meters-high walls of Hogwarts Castle were no obstacle to the Father-Worriers Alliance, much less this mere four- or five-meter perimeter wall around the school.
After walking for dozens of minutes and arriving near Hogsmeade, Kyle opened the Ninja Tool Pouch he had gotten back from Dumbledore, which had been enchanted with the Extension Charm.
More accurately, it could no longer be called a Ninja Tool Pouch. It should be called a storage pouch, because Old Dumbledore had confiscated all the ninja tools inside.
He poured out a huge pile of strange and bizarre items.
They included, but were not limited to: cosmetics, hairnets, wigs, fake beards, clothes, height-increasing insoles...
"I really don't know where you got so many weird things," Cedric said as he expertly grabbed an insole and stuffed it into his shoe.
"Why worry about that?" George patted Cedric on the shoulder. "If not for Kyle, how could we disguise ourselves and sneak into the Three Broomsticks Bar? Right, Fred?"
Fred was busy stuffing his fiery red hair into a hairnet. Without turning around, he replied, "I'm more curious about where Kyle learned all this."
Hearing Fred's words, Kyle, who was putting in colored contacts to hide his heterochromia, instantly darkened.
Don't ask. The answer is the anime club from my previous life.
At the club recruitment performance back then, all he had seen were cute, beautiful girls in cosplay outfits. Yet after passing the membership interview, he discovered that the entire club was made up of boys.
It was all tears when he thought about it!
A short while later, the four of them, their appearances completely transformed, strolled into Hogsmeade.
As long as they slightly concealed the childishness still lingering in their voices, no one could tell that the four of them were underage wizards.
The four crossed the road and entered a crowded, noisy establishment. Behind the bar, a graceful, pretty-faced woman was tending to a group of rowdy male wizards.
"Hello, Madam Rosmerta," Kyle called.
Madam Rosmerta was delighted to see her four regular customers and greeted them warmly. "The usual for you gentlemen?"
From their exchange alone, it was obvious that the four of them had contributed plenty to the Three Broomsticks Bar's business.
Kyle slapped a large bag of gold Galleons onto the counter with extravagant flair. "No. Today, I'm going to challenge my previous record."
At the mention of challenging the record, Cedric and the Weasley Twins instantly went pale.
"Um, Ky—cough, Bruce, I don't think anyone has broken your record," Cedric said, tugging at Kyle's clothes. "Maybe we should—"
Before he could finish, someone interrupted him. "Mr. Wayne! Someone's about to break your drinking record!"
George and Fred exchanged a glance, both seeing shock in the other's eyes.
The four hurried toward the back half of the bar. A crowd was noisily gathered around a table, shouting without pause.
"Come on! Come on!"
"The twenty-eighth glass!"
"Twenty-nine!"
"Thirty! He's tied the record!"
The record challenger, surrounded by the crowd like the moon amid stars, raised the final glass of Firewhisky with his back to Kyle and the others.
He tilted back his head and drained the liquor in one gulp. Then he turned the glass upside down. A single remaining drop slid down its inner wall and fell onto the tabletop, splashing into a tiny burst.
The empty glass marked the birth of a new record, and deafening cheers immediately erupted throughout the bar.
When they saw "Bruce Wayne," the creator of the previous record, arrive, the bar suddenly fell silent.
Startled by the abrupt silence, the old wizard who had broken the record turned around in confusion.
Kyle stared blankly at the man's mismatched eyes, one dark and one light. "Who are you?"
"Just a passing wizard. I'm looking for my son."
George, Fred, and Cedric let out cries of surprise.
Kyle froze. "You can't find your son?"
"Yes. It happened a long time ago." The old wizard's voice was tinged with sadness.
Kyle stared dazedly into the man's eyes. "I can't find my father either."
"That truly is regrettable." The old wizard lowered his gaze.
"Yeah..."
"Well then, good luck."
"You too. I hope you find your son soon."
"And I hope you find your father soon."
Everyone in the bar watched Kyle and the old wizard, their gazes shifting back and forth between them.
George, Fred, and Cedric helplessly covered their faces.
After taking a step toward the exit, Kyle finally realized something.
Wait! Heterochromia!?
Kyle reached up and wiped at his eyes. Once he removed his colored contacts, his original eye color was revealed.
"Son!?"
"Dad!"
