Yao Chen had brought them out to trade with Li Changqing because he genuinely needed Li Changqing's help. But there was another reason:

Li Changqing was mysterious. He cultivated an unusual technique, and though he had possessed no Dou Qi cultivation a few days ago, he had been remarkably strong. Now that Li Changqing made no deliberate effort to conceal it, Yao Chen could sense with his Soul Force that he had become a Dou Zhe.

However strong Li Changqing was, he could not have cultivated from no Dou Qi at all to Dou Zhe in a few short days.

All things considered, Yao Chen wanted to be on good terms with him.

Li Changqing accepted the gift with satisfaction, then turned to Xiao Yan. "Xiao Yan, I have other matters to attend to, so I won't stay at the Xiao Clan. Contact me through the jade talisman if you need help."

Xiao Yan did not ask him to stay. In his eyes, it was remarkable enough that Li Changqing had spent a few days with the Xiao Clan. If Li Changqing had intended to settle there, Xiao Yan would have had to question why his fellow countryman had come to the Xiao Clan at all.
