Background and History

Li Changqing was an Earth university student whose body was destroyed by spacetime turbulence after an encounter with the Kun Peng King. Protected by the King’s true blood, his soul entered the body of a six-year-old beggar who had died of starvation on Douluo Continent. He inherited no memories from the boy and initially could neither read nor speak the local language 3 4 5.

Zhao Dashan’s family sheltered him for ten months. Changqing learned the language, trained his sword and Kunpeng Martial Souls, and hunted food for the household before leaving to obtain Soul Rings and avoid Spirit Hall’s attention 5 6. He later earned money and a regional reputation by hunting Soul Beasts for clients, with merchant Wu Guangcai helping him find work and sell materials 16 18 21.

After reaching Titled Douluo cultivation, Changqing took control of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. He used its vitality to rebuild his original body, then consumed his former body and other powerful materials to give his Sword Martial Soul a physical form 42 44. He subsequently arrived on the Dou Qi Continent, where he began cultivating Dou Qi and studying alchemy 86 91 97.

Appearance

Changqing’s appearance changes substantially across his time on Douluo Continent:

• Borrowed body: Initially a frail six-year-old with thin limbs and dry yellow hair. After his first two Soul Rings, he stands 1.6 metres tall despite being only seven 3 14.
• Later borrowed-body appearance: A short-haired young man with an ordinary face who wears practical black fighting clothes 19.
• Reforged body: Resembles his original body rather than the one he occupied on arrival; Qian Renxue does not recognize his new face 42 45 46.

Personality

Changqing plans around long-term gains. He preserves the limited Kunpeng True Blood rather than spending it to bypass an early cultivation barrier, refuses weak Soul Rings, and initially avoids factions and conflicts he considers irrelevant to his growth 4 6 10 15. In combat, he often studies an opponent before committing to a decisive attack 11 13.

He is also irreverent and deliberately provocative, particularly when rejecting Qian Renxue’s recruitment attempt 29 30 31. His later actions include intimidation, revenge, and sexual coercion; his encounters with Bibi Dong, Qian Renxue, and Tang Yuehua are marked by severe abuses of power 35 47 63. He says he avoids love because crossing between worlds could leave him unable to protect someone attached to him 125.
