"What a big mouth."
Qin Zhong's eyes chilled as he looked at the man from the northwest standing before him, a long bundle strapped to his back.
"This is Linjiang County, not the uninhabited northwest. If you want to teach someone a lesson here, you'll have to fight to see who teaches whom."
Ma Teng merely sneered. He had no interest in talking to someone weaker than himself.
"I'll fight the third match. Bring out this so-called opponent of yours and let me have a look."
Li Xiang turned to Qin Zhong, who stood by the door.
"Senior Brother Qin, hurry to the rear courtyard and fetch Senior Sister Ye."
Qin Zhong's expression stiffened.
"Well..." Qin Zhong lowered his voice. "There's no point fetching her."
"Huh?" Li Xiang blinked. "What, is she taking a nap?"
Ye Qingyao was foul-tempered when woken from a nap. He wouldn't dare disturb her.
"She's not napping." Qin Zhong shook his head. "Senior Sister Ye hasn't been at the Martial Arts Hall since the day before yesterday."
"She still hasn't come back?"
Li Xiang frowned slightly.
That was strange.
The day before yesterday, Master Hong had said Ye Qingyao had personal business. She hadn't appeared yesterday either, and now the sun was already high in the sky, yet she still wasn't at the Martial Arts Hall?
Ye Qingyao was usually obsessed with martial arts. Apart from eating and sleeping, she spent nearly all her time in the Martial Arts Room or helping Hong Tianbao train the students.
She rarely went out, except for the occasional visit to Ye Wanqing's tailor shop.
For her to vanish for days without even leaving word was decidedly unusual.
"Where on earth did she go?" Li Xiang muttered.
Ma Teng, however, gave them no time to think.
His ears twitched.
