Nami and the others had barely stepped off the train at the Enies Lobby Station when they found more than three hundred Soldiers waiting outside in formation.
"Surrender, Pirates!"
Nami smiled. "Everyone, stand back. Leave these small fry to me."
Usopp and Chopper waved flags to cheer her on. "Go, Nami!"
Barry groaned. "Hey, you shameless little girl! This is no time to play the hero!"
Nami walked toward the soldiers, leaving those behind her with a view of her graceful silhouette. Her bouncing orange pigtails were especially eye-catching.
Bang!
A soldier lost his nerve and fired his Pistol, but the bullet passed straight through Nami and struck nothing.
"What? What just happened?!"
The soldiers, the Galley-La Company workers, and the Franky Family were all stunned. They watched Nami walk into the soldiers' ranks and point her golden staff at the sky.
"Lightning Serpent!"
Nami's right hand turned into Thunder. She released a torrent of it, sending it up her golden staff, where it gathered in midair into the rough shape of a snake.
A closer look revealed a hint of the Sky Lord in its bearing.
After days of practice, Nami had gained control over a considerable portion of her Thunder power. The stronger a person grew, the more precisely they could control their power, and the better they could shape lightning as they wished.
Enel's Thunder Dragon, for instance, had been startlingly lifelike.
For now, Nami could only form a rough snake. Guided by her golden staff, it danced around her.
Crackle!
Hiss—crack!
The soldiers carried swords or guns, and anyone who got too close to the lightning serpent was shocked. In just a few breaths, Nami took down more than three hundred of them by herself.
"Return!"
Nami swept her golden staff upward. The lightning serpent descended
