Psykos smiled mysteriously. She had planted this hidden pawn before leaving Monster Paradise.
One Monster-Man whose life was under her control had been lucky enough to survive the battle that destroyed the Monster Legion.
At the time, he had not been in the heart of Monster Paradise when Uranus struck. He had been on another part of Beast Island.
He had survived the terrifying Dyna Stone explosion, though its shock wave had hurled him into the sea. He had taken no part in the battle afterward.
When the battle ended, he escaped with the other surviving Monster-Men.
Out on the open sea, an enormous mammoth walked through the water.
The sea covered half its body. Now and then, it raised its head and trumpeted, spraying torrents of seawater from its two long trunks like a downpour.
Everyone knew this monster.
It was the supermonster that had destroyed the Monster Legion: the Liger Mammoth.
It roamed wherever it pleased, enjoying its freedom.
When it grew tired, it simply found an island to rest on.
Or it crouched down to sleep where the water was shallow.
Though Monster Paradise was gone, the Liger Mammoth had no shortage of food. The Sea Kings were more than enough to satisfy its appetite.
Nor was it alone. The Monster-Men living on and inside its body kept it company.
A small village stood on the Liger Mammoth's back, built by the surviving Monster-Men who had left with it.
It was the only home left to these monsters, rejected by the world beyond.
They produced nothing themselves, so every so often they had to find somewhere to plunder.
Often, without realizing it, they strayed into the territory of other Great Pirates, and clashes
