Just over seventy kilometers away lay the Ruined Ancient City they had learned about from the locals.
In an inn built to look like a giant boulder, everyone sat at the bar in the corner, sipping the local specialty chilled drinks and beer.
Before long, Jiang Yu, Nan Jue, and Nan Rongni returned from gathering information.
The weather was sweltering. As soon as the three sat down, they ordered cold drinks to soothe their throats and prepared to take a good rest.
"How are things over there?" Ai Jiangtu asked.
"There really is something going on. The elemental detector showed wind and lightning elements far above normal levels, and residents of the nearby town said they sometimes see flashes of lightning. We've roughly pinpointed the Ancient City's location, but there's one very tricky problem," Jiang Yu said.
"What problem?"
Nan Jue took over and explained, "Here's the situation. We investigated and found a long, narrow stretch of desert squeezed between fault lines in two landmasses. The locals call it the Harami Desert. It's the easiest and safest route to the Ruined Ancient City. We wanted to take a look at the city first, so we entered the desert, only to find a group of Stone Elemental Creatures living there. Luckily, we'd only gone a few meters in, so we escaped as soon as we realized something was wrong. Nobody was hurt."
"These Stone Elemental Creatures are very hostile to outsiders. Even though my Rock Beast is a pure Earth Element creature, they still attacked it as an intruder the moment it entered the desert," Jiang Yu added.
Nan Rongni chimed in, "We couldn't explore the skies, but I don't think we should even consider that route. There seems to be a colony
