Zhou Sining gripped the railing and shook his head. He swore he would never drink this much again.
Being drunk made it far too easy to mess things up.
The perfume was so strong it stung his nose. He tried to pry the woman's arm away, his expression darkening.
Who the hell was this woman?
"Get lost."
The stranger stepped back a little, smiling at Zhou Sining with amusement. "Don't be mad, handsome. How about a drink with me?"
As she spoke, her wandering right hand slid down from his neck and stopped just below his abdomen.
Seeing the slight bulge there, she licked her lips with a smile.
He was obviously an innocent college boy who had never slept with anyone. She liked boys like that best.
They had plenty of stamina, and because it was their first time, they were shy and gentle, too. Adorable.
Zhou Sining, in particular, had the looks and the body. He was a real prize.
Her smile deepened, and she pressed herself against him again.
"Come with me, sweetheart. I'll make sure you're set for life."
When Mu Nujiao got out of the car, she saw a brazen scene: an older woman hitting on a drunk young man.
If their genders had been reversed, someone would probably have rushed over to intervene.
But the one being harassed was a man. Quite a few men nearby looked envious, wishing they could trade places with Zhou Sining.
"Bastard."
Mu Nujiao snorted and stepped forward to pull the dizzy Zhou Sining away.
"Ever heard of first come, first served?" the stranger asked with a tight smile.
"Sexually harassing a man is still a crime. Would you like me to call the police?" Mu Nujiao looked up coldly.
As the daughter of a prominent family, her usual composed, dignified bearing was enough to intimidate plenty of people.
Now, with anger in her eyes, the pride and aloofness she usually kept in check bore down on the stranger.
The woman's face stiffened, and she let go reluctantly.
She had met plenty of young heirs and heiresses. She knew she couldn't afford to cross this woman.
Mu Nujiao gave a cold snort and helped the dazed Zhou Sining into the taxi.
The car eventually stopped outside a luxury chain hotel in Magic City.
Mu Nujiao tugged Zhou Sining inside by his sleeve while pulling up her Electronic Black Card on her phone.
"A Presidential Suite."
"Of course, ma'am. Here's your room key. Please contact us if you need anything."
At the sight of the black card, the receptionist let Mu Nujiao through without even asking for identification.
Luckily, Zhou Sining remained quiet the whole way, and they made it to the suite without trouble.
The Presidential Suite had two floors. Walking in felt like entering the grand living room of a luxurious riverside villa.
Mu Nujiao couldn't be bothered to take the drunk man upstairs. She pointed to a sofa in the living room that was wider and more comfortable than a bed.
"Go rest over there."
Zhou Sining's head was still fuzzy, but the walk had sobered him up a little. He obediently climbed onto the sofa.
After two or three seconds of silence, he suddenly sat up again. His eyes were clear but vacant as he stared straight at Mu Nujiao.
"What?"
"Thank you."
His tone was earnest and sincere, though the look in his eyes made him seem a little dazed.
Mu Nujiao paused. The inexplicable anger inside her vanished in an instant.
Only then did she realize what she had done.
She had actually gone to pick up a drunk Zhou Sining and brought him to a Presidential Suite.
But they had only known each other for seven days!
Even if he had saved her life, she didn't need to go this far for him!
And why had seeing that strange woman cling to him filled her with such indescribable anger?
Mu Nujiao froze. Heat rushed to her head.
A blush spread across her lovely face, turning her fair skin pink and lending her innocent beauty a touch of allure.
"You're beautiful," Zhou Sining said suddenly.
If there had been even a hint of desire in his eyes, Mu Nujiao would have suspected the bastard was pretending to be drunk.
"You..."
She parted her lips, searching for words, when her phone rang.
Seeing the familiar number, Mu Nujiao took a deep breath and went out to the balcony to answer it.
"Brother."
"Nujiao, why didn't you compete in Pearl Academy's Beast Fighting Competition today?" The man's voice held no warmth.
"Aren't you the one who's always eager for a fight? Besides, you know this was a chance to promote the Mu Clan. You were more than capable of taking down that student, Mo Fan. Even if you couldn't beat him in the end, showing your face would have been worthwhile."
Mu Nujiao was silent for a long moment. "I overlooked it."
The man was clearly dissatisfied with her answer. Reproach crept into his voice. "Nujiao, you need to understand that you're an adult now. You can't keep acting on every whim like you did as a child."
"Pearl Academy isn't Pearl Institute High School. Its students are the best from all over the country. It's your responsibility to make a name for the Mu Clan among the new students. You're the clan's living advertisement at Pearl Academy. Do you understand?"
"Yes."
The man on the other end frowned and was about to say more, but Mu Nujiao cut him off.
"Actually, the captain of the last team to challenge Mo Fan was Mu Ying, Great-Aunt's daughter. We could say she feels guilty about failing to defeat him and donate a batch of resources to the school."
"The heads of more than a dozen departments won't just stand by while the freshmen get no resources at all, so the school certainly won't refuse."
She trusted her elder brother to understand the rest.
Even if she hadn't suggested it, the family would have found another opportunity and excuse to promote itself among the freshmen.
She had merely offered a plan ahead of time.
There was a few seconds of silence on the other end. "All right, I understand. Get some rest."
After ending the call, Mu Nujiao folded her arms and gazed down at the glittering city of Magic City, her feelings tangled.
If she had truly wanted to raise her family's profile, she should have taken Mo Fan's place and challenged the entire school.
She had initially wanted to step forward because she couldn't bear to see Mo Fan take all the resources meant for students from ordinary families.
But Zhou Sining had told her that Mo Fan was even poorer than many of them, yet he had fought through hardship to develop strength and resolve far beyond the ordinary.
Why could Mo Fan do it when the others couldn't?
In the end, those impoverished students hadn't even dared to step onto the field and try.
Knowing all that, Mu Nujiao couldn't bring herself to play the "savior" and defeat Mo Fan.
It was the same reason she had secured a Retainer Contract for Zhou Sining instead of a contract that would bind him like a slave.
Of course she wanted the family to prosper, but she also wanted those talented students from humble backgrounds to receive what they deserved.
Forget it...
Mu Nujiao sighed and checked the time. It was long past the school's curfew.
Going back to school was out of the question, so she would have to make do here for the night.
The Presidential Suite had two floors and four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Security was excellent.
She wasn't worried about Zhou Sining getting drunk and trying anything in the middle of the night.
As for why she wouldn't just book another room when she could afford it?
Please. A Presidential Suite cost a hundred thousand a night!
It wasn't as if money grew on trees.
