One short sentence stopped three Intermediate Mages in their tracks.
"Ling Ling, has someone come with a commission?"
An old man's voice came from inside, breaking the awkward silence.
"Grandpa, he's here to apply for a job. He's too young. We don't want him." Ling Ling called into the room, then went back to her book.
"Young is good. You're afraid of nothing. It'd be a shame if you died, though, before you'd even enjoyed life," the old man said unhurriedly.

Mo Fan's mouth twitched. He was truly at a loss with this grandfather and granddaughter.
Behind him, Zhou Sining and Mu Nujiao exchanged a look and smiled in perfect understanding.
"He seems to have hit a wall," Mu Nujiao said, glancing at Mo Fan.
Zhou Sining shrugged without a care. "Whatever. I'm not the one looking for a job."
Just as Mo Fan was about to go in and meet the old man, a flustered woman appeared at the end of the street and stumbled toward the Azure Sky Hunter Agency.
Sure enough, Leng Lingling and the old man launched into their spiel about a sheep ripe for fleecing, leaving the other three speechless.
Mu Nujiao couldn't help wondering aloud, "Is this place... actually legitimate?"
"It should be fine. The information came from the Hunters' Alliance, and Mo Fan said this place has a great reputation," Zhou Sining replied.
