Last night, Lin Yi checked the map of the nearby area.
Originally, New York had four amusement parks, but now only two remained in business. The other two had closed down several years ago, and even these two had only been reopened in the last couple of years.
What did this mean? This fucking obviously meant they were restarted after the Cosmic Virus disaster.
The big one and the small one flew aggressively to the Sun God Amusement Park.
Buy tickets, enter the park! Polite little Morgan knew others couldn't perceive her presence, but she still had Lin Yi buy two tickets.
Roller coaster, ride!
Ferris wheel, ride!
Theme park, storm it!
Bumper cars, under Lin Yi's Bio-field, even direct head-on collisions sent them flying safely.
To be fair, none of this was as thrilling as Lin Yi flying up into the sky for a free fall, but the joy was different, and the way to obtain it was different.
So Lin Yi had a great time as well; if not for this Morgan being a bit taller, he would almost forget that this was a Morgan from another universe.
Happy Lin Yi did not know that while he was having fun, Strange was running for his life with Spider-Man.
Right now, the two of them were sprinting through endless darkness. Overhead was a flowing night sky of twinkling starlight, but that twinkling eerie purple light was far from beautiful; a single glance filled one with dread, as if it could stir up the darkest impulses in one's heart.
The ground beneath their feet was pieced together from countless floating debris fragments and was extremely unstable.
Peter constantly shot webs, weaving and darting through the rubble.
As for Strange, his hands kept forming mudras, shooting dazzling golden Magic bolts behind him. The attack power wasn't high, primarily meant for disruption.
Behind them was a "monster" a full hundred meters tall. Its massive body was embedded with twisted, writhing faces fused from countless dimensional demons.
These faces kept screaming and roaring, their sounds carrying dark energy that polluted the soul.
"Doctor Strange, didn't you beat Dormammu away back then?! Why are we still running now, is this normal?!" Peter had been running for half an hour and was somewhat tired. He had no idea what was going on in the Dark Dimension; his physical strength and abilities seemed to be constantly weakening as time passed.
Strange was in no better shape, constantly tossing out spells, and the cloak that had been flying wildly behind him for half an hour had lost its usual vigor.
"You think this is Dormammu? That was Dormammu! I used the Time Stone to bargain with him! Look at what this thing is now? It doesn't even understand human speech!"
"Isn't this normal?" Peter asked, bewildered. He had never actually seen Dormammu, but he had watched movies, right? In a hellish place like the Dark Dimension, wouldn't anything be normal?
Strange was left speechless. This was fucking far from normal!
The Dark Dimension was Dormammu's exclusive territory, and the Dark Dimension this Strange had entered was clearly not the familiar one. Dormammu wasn't here, which originally should have been good news. The bad news, however, was that there were dimensional demons even more violent and crazy than Dormammu!
Moreover... Strange scratched his arm, which had been itching incessantly. The Black-purple veins on it were exceptionally glaring.
That's right, the moment he stepped into the Dark Dimension, he had been entangled by the Cosmic Virus.
He just knew this thing couldn't be separated from the Dark Dimension! Even if this wasn't the birthplace, it was the earliest place to come into contact with the Cosmic Virus!
"Stop talking nonsense, my Sling Ring is destroyed. If we can't find a way out soon, we're going into the Quantum Realm!" Strange roared.
Entering the Quantum Realm in an unfamiliar universe and an unfamiliar dimension was no less dangerous than gambling on whether there was a transparent platform before a cliff.
Even so, taking that gamble was still a million times better than being swallowed in one bite by that fierce-looking monster behind them.
The speed of the two escapees gradually distorted. Another ten minutes passed, and Peter was the first to give out.
"I can't do this anymore, Doctor Strange. I think this monster is playing with us! How long have we been running, and it always maintains the exact same distance from us!"
"Do you think if we stop, it will stop too?"
Strange sneered, "You can try."
Peter shivered, "Then never mind!"
Test it with his life? He wasn't that reckless!
"If we can't, let's just go into the Quantum Realm! This is endless, let's go to the Quantum Realm and think of a way to resolve this!"
Strange gritted his teeth. He also felt that continuing like this was no solution, and Peter was right: enter the Quantum Realm to catch their breath and figure out a way to escape the Dark Dimension.
"We have only this choice left, we... wait!"
Just as Strange made up his mind, he suddenly noticed a trace of golden light appearing not far ahead, followed by more and more golden light forming a huge circle.
It was a Portal!
The moment the Portal formed, two figures poured into the Dark Dimension.
One had hair, and one was bald. They started with overwhelming Magic attacks right off the bat, making Strange's eyes brim with tears.
Was the Ancient One... returning to normal?
Regardless of the two of them, back in the Sun God Paradise.
After the big one and the small one played like crazy for two hours, little Morgan gave out first, squatting in a sweat beside the amusement park's cold drink shop and sipping cola.
Lin Yi stood by her side, wiping the sweat from her forehead.
Morgan's little face was flushed with excitement, light dancing in her eyes, and her whole body exuded an aura of satisfaction.
Seeing that children's joy return to Morgan's face, Lin Yi's mood improved quite a bit.
Look, look, how simple and pure a child's joy was! The happiness gained from just simple companionship—he didn't understand why Tony was being so "harsh."
Wanting to play the strict father? But this was going way too far. He wondered what kind of mood that old man Tony would have if he saw this scene now.
What was old man Tony's mood? Tony didn't know himself either. Seeing this moment might bring guilt, relief, some regret, or perhaps something indescribable?
Sitting before the screen, Tony watched happy Morgan. Guilt had always been there, but given the current situation of the universe, he had to use a relatively gentle means to make Morgan grow up quickly.
Making her fade from everyone's consciousness wasn't just to protect her; on a deeper level, it was actually to mature her mindset as early as possible, because they didn't have much time left, and he couldn't pin all of Morgan's future hopes entirely on the information provided by that Quantum Man.
After all, he didn't know how much longer he, or this Blue Star, could survive.
Yet if Lin Yi truly was the hope spoken of by that Quantum Man...
The loop scene set up by Lin Yi had already dissipated due to the dispersion of energy, but Tony no longer felt the previous urgency. Instead, he just quietly watched the screen like this, constantly pondering...
