Appearance
Thomas is a burly, middle-aged officer with a Saxon-style handlebar mustache 7.
Personality
Thomas is attentive to his soldiers but prepared to give them difficult assignments. He worries about Morin’s injuries before placing him in command, and the heavy losses at San Isidro weigh on him even after the victory 7 15. As Morin proves himself, Thomas becomes willing to trust his judgment and bring unwelcome findings to higher command 17 26.
History
Thomas assigns the newly arrived Second Lieutenant Morin to 3rd Platoon of Captain Hauser’s company despite Morin’s injuries 7. During the assault on San Isidro, he orders the reserve 3rd Company to advance up the middle while requesting artillery support against a machine-gun position 12. After the village falls at heavy cost, he praises Morin’s successful flanking attack and promises to recommend him for a commendation 15.
With the battalion expected to advance on Seville, Thomas sends Morin to reconnoiter the northwest route 17. Morin returns with evidence of extensive defenses, including Magic Crystal Cannons. Thomas accepts his warning that an immediate assault could be disastrous and takes the report through regimental headquarters to the brigade, but the attack goes ahead 25 26 27.
In the fighting outside Seville, Thomas rallies the battalion to support Morin and the International Brigades against Britannian troops. He later leads his men against the Northumberland Fusiliers’ flank 33 34. When Morin’s rifle barrage forces a Highland Mage to retreat, Thomas directs soldiers to help free the Teutonic Order’s trapped Armored Knights 37 38. After the allies enter Seville, Thomas backs Morin’s intervention in a confrontation over Saxon soldiers’ theft from a civilian home 41. Facing a renewed attack, he asks Morin for an urban-defense plan and takes the resulting proposals to brigade headquarters 43 44.
