After laughing and fooling around for a while, the women finally settled down. They'd spent the whole day traveling and deserved to relax.
Before long, Bai Tingting quietly swam over to Song Xia. Her fair cheeks were slightly flushed as she spoke softly.
"Xia, I need to step out for a moment."
"Hm?"
Song Xia turned to Bai Tingting and asked with concern,
"Do you want me to come with you?"
"It's okay. I can go by myself. Sorry for the trouble."
"All right. Call me if you need anything."
"Okay."
After letting her know, Bai Tingting swam to the edge of the Pond alone. Her graceful body rose from the water, droplets sliding down her curves.
Once she had relieved herself, she let out a breath and prepared to return to the others.
The rising temperature had filled the area with so much mist that she could barely see. She'd had to feel her way out here in the first place.
With a sigh, she slipped back into the water and slowly swam in the direction she had come from.
Then a thought struck her. Since the Pond was roughly circular, couldn't she find the others by following its edge?

Bai Tingting chuckled and began carefully swimming forward, feeling along the edge of the Pond.
Before long, a large rock came into view. As she recalled, the others should be on the other side of it.
Delighted, she picked up her pace. But just as she reached the middle of the rock, her foot stepped on something soft. A muffled voice sounded beside her.
"Urgh!"
It was unmistakably a man's voice. Bai Tingting's expression changed. Forgetting what was under her foot, she hurriedly sank her body beneath the water.
