"Oh?"
Looks like she's on board... Mo Xie chuckled inwardly, though he sounded intrigued when he spoke.
"Let's hear it."
"I don't want to see more people die. You two seem capable. We can work together to eliminate whatever's in that valley."
Li Man watched the mysterious young man, her tone earnest.
The Military had a duty to eliminate every threat it found. As a Military Commander, Li Man could hardly shirk that responsibility!
Word had apparently spread that the valley held an Earth Element Spirit Seed, and a top-quality one at that. Hunting Mages kept coming to search for it.
But the valley was a trap that had claimed who knew how many lives. News of entire teams being wiped out would not reach the cities quickly. If the rumor spread further, more people would keep marching to their deaths.
Even she, an Advanced Mage, had fallen victim. Any number of additional teams would die there!
And she was sure the Dongting Lake Death God had appeared while she was unconscious. Why had this young man turned out to be the one who saved her? Had she imagined it?
"We could help. We don't want more people dying either. But we're on a mission and can't make that decision ourselves, so..."
Mo Xie spread his hands, looking helpless.
"Don't worry about that. I'll explain it to your military district afterward. If you help me, I'll make sure you're rewarded and credited."
Li Man gave her solemn promise.
"All right. You really must explain it to our superiors, or we'll be in trouble. We can talk about rewards and credit when it's over. Eliminating Demon Beasts is our duty as Military Mages."
Mo Xie sounded so righteous that anyone who didn't know him might have believed every word.
"I will!"
