After dinner at the Jiang Family home, Mo Xie and Zu Xingyi said their goodbyes and left. They still had things to prepare.
Jiang Tianchen and Yun Ni did not ask them to stay longer. Everyone would be free over the next few days, after all, so there was no hurry.
After seeing the two out, Jiang Tianchen and Yun Ni cleared the dishes from the dining table. Jiang Tianchen glanced around and, finding neither of their children in the living room or kitchen, asked,
"Where did A Jun and A Xu go?"
Yun Ni gathered the bowls and chopsticks and carried them into the kitchen as she replied,
"A Jun is organizing his totem notes in his room. A Xu probably went back to her room too."
Resignation covered her face. She sighed and said irritably,
"Ever since A Jun came back last time and I grounded him, he's spent every day in his room studying those totems. If Xing Yi hadn't come over today, I doubt he would have come out at all."
"It's all A Jun's fault for constantly going on about how mysterious totems are. Now even A Xu has been brainwashed and started taking an interest in them. Honestly... I don't want both our children getting sucked into this!"
Jiang Tianchen shook his head helplessly at her words.
"I remember you being quite supportive at first. Why are you so against it now?"
"How was I supposed to know A Jun would face so much danger? If you hadn't sent people in time last time, I'm afraid..."
By the end, Yun Ni's voice had begun to choke up. She dared not dwell on it.
