"Who's hiding back there? Come out now!"
At Xiao Hui's shout, everyone stopped in their tracks. Their eyes sharpened with vigilance as they turned toward the boulder.
Yet there was still no movement behind it, as though no one was there at all.
Mo Xie frowned slightly and pointed. Everyone nodded, then slowly moved to surround the boulder.
When the person still refused to emerge, Xiao Hui first glanced at the Desert Bone-Eating Spiders massed behind them, then spoke in a threatening tone.
"If you don't show yourself, I'll cast some magic and draw those Desert Bone-Eating Spiders over. If we have to, we'll all go down together."
"You'd better think this through. You're alone, and there are plenty of us. If it comes to a fight, you'll be the one who suffers."
No sooner had he finished than a voice came from behind the boulder, sounding flustered and embarrassed.
"Hey, don't, don't! Come on, man, don't do anything stupid! This isn't the place to hurt your enemy at almost as much cost to yourself!"
At those words, Mo Xie's expression shifted slightly. The corner of his mouth twitched as he gave the boulder a strange look.
That familiar voice... surely it couldn't be such a coincidence...
Sure enough, a figure stepped out from behind the boulder. He looked like a fairly young man, and his face belonged to Jiang Shaojun, whom Mo Xie hadn't seen in two months.
"Shaojun?!"
"Honestly, you people... I was only hiding here... huh?"
Jiang Shaojun emerged with both hands raised. He had just been about to explain when he heard someone call his name.
Turning, he spotted Mo Xie, whose expression was equally stunned. Once he recovered, he immediately spoke in delighted surprise.
