A Photo Before Parting

Mo Xie returned to his room and put his luggage into the Spatial Ring.

As he was thinking, his phone vibrated in his pocket and began to ring.

He took it out. The screen showed Jiang Ya's name.

"Hello, Jiang Ya."

He answered, and Jiang Ya's distinctive, mature voice came through.

"Boss, the Hangzhou branch wants to know when you're coming."

"Oh, I'm leaving today. Book me a ticket to Hangzhou for tonight."

"Got it."

"Hey, that's the boss's voice! Boss, boss..."

Lin Jiayu's cheerful voice suddenly rang out from the phone, calling for him again and again.

"Jiayu, stop messing around..."

Jiang Ya tried to stop her, and Mo Xie heard the sounds of a struggle over the phone.

"Jiang Ya, let me talk to the boss for a minute, please?"

Unable to snatch the phone away, Lin Jiayu resorted to pleading.

Jiang Ya sighed helplessly and handed it over.

"Boss, when are you coming back? I miss you so much!"

"I'll probably be back in about a week."

"That's great! When you get back, remember to treat your hardworking employee to a meal!"

At the mention of a meal, Mo Xie laughed.

"Heh, all right. I promise I'll treat you both when I get back."

"Yay!"

Lin Jiayu squealed with delight like a little girl.

They chatted for a while, said goodbye, and Mo Xie hung up.

He checked the time on his phone. It was only one in the afternoon.

After roughly working out his travel plans, he found he had plenty of time to spare.

Three days of rest had eased much of the exhaustion he had felt.

Coming here really was the right choice!

Though... it wasn't as if I'd actually rested much over those three days...

"Um..."

A voice came from the doorway. Mo
