So that day, Uchiha Yin focused on training Kurotsuchi's Chakra control.
That was how they ended up like this: Uchiha Yin sat high on a branch while Kurotsuchi lay sprawled on the ground beneath the tree, covered in dirt.
She got up and brushed the dirt off herself, looking thoroughly unwilling to give up.
After standing beneath the tree for several dozen seconds, she marched straight toward the Tree Trunk again.
Chakra slowly surged beneath her feet, and Kurotsuchi stepped onto it.
Her entire body stood perpendicular to the Tree Trunk.
It was an incredible sight.
But halfway up, Kurotsuchi suddenly fell. She cried out in pain and lay on the ground for a long while, unwilling to move.
Uchiha Yin watched from above without the slightest intention of comforting her. Instead, he smiled.
It was not that he was heartless. He knew she would be fine, so he could afford to enjoy the sight.
Kurotsuchi clearly heard him laugh. She scrambled up and glared at him, her displeasure written all over her face.
Uchiha Yin seemed to realize he had dealt a blow to her confidence.
He quickly wiped the smile from his face. "Kurotsuchi, you've improved a lot already. Keep at it a little longer, and you'll definitely make it up here!"
Kurotsuchi knew his encouragement was halfhearted, but she could not help feeling happy anyway.
"Yeah, yeah, I know!" she said, sounding reluctant.
Inside, though, she was delighted.
Uchiha Yin was used to Kurotsuchi saying one thing and feeling another, so he paid it no mind.
He was getting bored and was about to find something else to do.
Then he sensed someone racing toward them.
The person moved fast and steadily. They were clearly a Jonin, perhaps even a member of ANBU.
Uchiha Yin grew curious.
