Konan lay nestled in the crook of Uchiha Yin's arm, her breathing soft and shallow. She had clearly fallen asleep.
Uchiha Yin unfolded the note with great care. After reading its contents, his expression grew considerably more serious.
To keep the information from leaking, Uchiha Yin burned the note. His gaze grew distant as he looked into the distance, his thoughts unreadable.
He muttered, "Looks like it happened after all!"
At the sound of Uchiha Yin's voice, Konan seemed to stir. She murmured and began to open her eyes.
Uchiha Yin immediately looked nervous. He tightened his hold ever so slightly and gently rocked her for a while.
Konan murmured softly, found a comfortable position in Uchiha Yin's arms, and went back to sleep.
Watching Konan settle into peaceful sleep, Uchiha Yin let out a small sigh of relief.
He thought to himself, Looks like I'll have to be more careful about this from now on. If Konan finds out, it won't be so easy to deal with!
Meanwhile, at Nagato's home in Amegakure.
Saro stood nervously before Nagato, not even daring to lift her head.
Looking at Saro, Nagato found himself at a loss for words. Though he had brought the child home, he had no idea how to look after her.
After thinking for a while, Nagato finally asked, "Aren't you going home?"
Though he wanted to take care of the child, Nagato could imagine what lay ahead for him.
If she stayed with him, she probably wouldn't have a single good day.
Besides, Nagato remembered that her mother was looking for her. Nothing could be happier than staying by her mother's side.
