White Zetsu sounded thoroughly puzzled. "Why aren't we going back?"
Black Zetsu replied in a disdainful tone, "We don't have to be so obedient, do we? He didn't exactly seem sincere about asking us to come back!"
White Zetsu found Black Zetsu's sulky words rather amusing.
He said calmly, "Some things aren't for us to decide. Since we've decided to join the Akatsuki, you need to follow their instructions properly. Otherwise, they'll grow suspicious of us!"
Black Zetsu fell silent. He understood all of that; he simply didn't want to take orders from a half-grown brat.
White Zetsu's voice suddenly turned much colder. "Remember, our undertaking isn't something we can simply abandon!"
The moment those words left his mouth, Black Zetsu went quiet. Clearly, he had accepted what White Zetsu said, and he went along without any further resistance.
Zetsu's ability to travel was exceptional. In just over ten minutes, he appeared before Nagato.
He dispensed with formalities and simply stood there, his expression cold, without even a smile.
Pain, who was Nagato, did not seem to mind. After all, people with extraordinary gifts were bound to have their own quirks.
"What did you want to see us about?"
Zetsu's voice was so cool that not the slightest trace of emotion could be heard in it.
Of course, Nagato did not care about their feelings. Since they had voluntarily joined the Akatsuki, they no longer had the right to question his orders.
"I have a mission for you!"
Hearing this, Zetsu nodded without hesitation. "Please give us your orders, Lord Pain!"
Nagato was quite satisfied with Zetsu's response. At least his attitude had not made Nagato uncomfortable.
