Hearing that, Hinata squirmed a little, intending to get down and walk back to her room to rest. To her surprise, Hyuga Hiashi did not let go.
Hinata looked at her father in confusion. Even Hyuga Hiashi realized how strange his behavior must seem.
Even so, Hyuga Hiashi was too concerned for Hinata's safety to let go of her for a moment. He simply said, "I'll carry you there!"
Her father's sudden attention flustered Hinata, but deep down, she was delighted.
She happily wrapped her arms around Hyuga Hiashi's neck and nodded. Her sweet, obedient manner was utterly endearing.
After settling Hinata in, Hyuga Hiashi did not return to his room. Instead, he lay down outside hers, clearly intending to stand guard over her.
Watching Hinata sleep, Hyuga Hiashi decided he would report to Lord Yin at daybreak.
Meanwhile, beside a stream dozens of miles from Konoha, a small campfire burned. Its yellowish glow lit the faces of the three people around it, none of whom looked pleased.
Ling Yu spoke first. "You were too impulsive today, You Sheng. You shouldn't have gone over there alone. That person with the Sharingan is no ordinary opponent."
As he spoke, Ling Yu frowned slightly, his disapproval plain on his face.
You Sheng's already grim expression darkened further. "Now that we've found the princess of the Byakugan Clan, we should act as quickly as possible, before anything goes wrong."
His face turned fierce. "He's just an Earthling. There's nothing to fear!"
Ling Yu was clearly furious. He wanted to say something, but did not know where to begin. He could only glare at You Sheng, his brow furrowed in displeasure.
Seeing Ling Yu fall silent, You Sheng's expression eased a little. But before he could enjoy it, a deep voice sounded beside him.
