That pleased Uchiha Yin immensely, especially after his encounter with Hyuga Hiashi.
His expression softened considerably. "Those three are injured, so they probably won't come back in the next couple of days. Even so, you need to stay vigilant about security. Don't let anything happen to Hinata!"
Uchiha Itachi said nothing more. He simply nodded and agreed.
Satisfied, Uchiha Yin waved a hand and vanished on the spot using Space-Time Ninjutsu.
When he reappeared, he was back home.
He had expected to see Kurotsuchi when he walked in, but he had forgotten that Samui was there too.
So when he saw Samui working alongside Kurotsuchi in the kitchen, he froze for an instant.
He recovered just as quickly and teased her with a grin. "What's this? I won't make you my secretary, so you've taken up housekeeping instead? You really are a career woman who'll take any job!"
Samui had been about to ask about Hinata the moment she saw him, but he had gotten his joke in first.
The concern she had meant to voice turned into a curt "How boring." The hopeful look she had given him hardened into indifference.
Uchiha Yin did not seem to mind. "That's not fair. I'm not bored at all. I got to watch quite the show today, free of charge!"
He might not have cared, but Kurotsuchi's expression had darkened.
Everyone had always treated Master Yin with respect. Even Anko, willful as she could be, respected him.
Hearing Samui speak to Uchiha Yin that way left Kurotsuchi visibly upset.
Samui sensed the hostile stare beside her. Thinking Uchiha Yin was glaring at her, she turned to look—and got a fright.
Kurotsuchi looked like a child, yet she stared at Samui with venom and contempt, as though Samui had committed some unforgivable crime.
