Kisame froze at the sight, his face dark with displeasure. There was no chance of bringing his Five Feeding Sharks any closer. His swagger vanished, replaced by a look of frustration. He seemed to realize that the man before him was a formidable opponent, and he no longer intended to hold back.
He turned his hand slightly around Samehada's handle. A sliver of the blade emerged from its bandages, revealing a dark brown surface covered in what looked like spikes. When the bandages fell away completely, Samehada showed its true form. Its huge mouth opened wide, displaying sharp teeth. A red tongue lolled out and swayed as though it were starving. No matter how he looked at it, this was a living creature, not a sword.
Uchiha Itachi was surprised too. Until now, he had only heard stories about Kisame and Samehada. This was his first time seeing Kisame and his strange greatsword for himself. He could not help wondering what the blade could do to make so many people covet it.
Kisame had grown anxious when his first two attacks failed, but the moment Samehada was unwrapped, his expression filled with fighting spirit, as though victory were already in sight. He put a little more strength into lifting Samehada and swung it at Uchiha Itachi's Susanoo.
