Without waiting for Uchiha Yin to answer, Tazuna kept walking. Uchiha Yin caught up with him. "With so many workers gone, when will you ever finish your bridge?"
Tazuna let out a deep sigh, but his voice remained firm. "Even if I'm the only one left, I'll finish building that bridge! It's my life's work, and the Land of Waves' hope!"
As he spoke those last words, Tazuna gazed into the distance. A wistful note entered his voice, as though he already understood how difficult it would be.
Uchiha Yin was no good at comforting people. After a moment's thought, he said with simple sincerity, "You'll achieve your goal. We'll help you."
In fact, seeing the unfinished bridge had given Uchiha Yin an idea. Helping these people might not be a bad choice. They were all so determined.
But he did not want to say so outright. Giving someone too much hope, only to fail them, would be painful.
Sure enough, Tazuna did not take Uchiha Yin's words seriously. He merely smiled, nodded, and said, "Thank you."
Chapter 809: An Unavoidable Fight
Uchiha Yin could tell what Tazuna was thinking, but he said nothing more. He simply followed him home.
When they arrived, Tazuna's daughter stared at him in shock. "Father, why are you back so early?" Seeing his dejected expression, she asked anxiously, "Did something happen?"
She rushed over and looked him up and down, but Tazuna stopped her with a smile. "Why would I be hurt? I just got tired and wanted to come home and rest."
His daughter clearly did not believe him. But when she saw that he did not want to say more, she nodded and said, "All right. Go inside and rest. I'll make you some tea." She watched Tazuna go into the house.
