Hinata and Ino exchanged strange looks. Thinking back on all those missions to catch dogs and find cats, neither of them had much to say about them.
But Uchiha Yin hadn't given that any thought. He simply looked at them expectantly, leaving Hinata to say, "They've been pretty good!"
Hinata was about to add something, feeling her answer was far too thin, when Uchiha Yin spoke up. "That's good to hear. Now I have some good news for you!"
Hinata and Ino looked at him eagerly. Pleased with their reaction, Uchiha Yin said, "The Chunin Ninja Exams are coming up soon. Do you want to take part?"
Hinata had been wondering what he was going to say, but the news still stunned her. "Yes! We'll definitely take part! We'll tell Sakura tonight!"
Satisfied with the two girls' response, Uchiha Yin smiled and patted their heads in encouragement.
What Uchiha Yin didn't know was that they were so eager to enter the Chunin Ninja Exams for one reason: they wanted to become Jonin sooner and take on higher-level missions. They had lost all interest in chasing cats and dogs!
The girls hid their motives well, though. Uchiha Yin noticed nothing, and the three of them went on to discuss their training.
Meanwhile, in Amegakure, Orochimaru finally met with Uchiha Itachi. After checking that no one was watching, he told Itachi what had happened earlier. It was not an easy problem to solve.
Itachi had just returned from dealing with a particularly troublesome matter. His brows drew tight as he listened. "They're making bolder moves by the day. It won't be easy to keep this hidden much longer. We'll have to notify Lord Yin and prepare together."
Orochimaru nodded. "That's what I was thinking too. But Obito Uchiha has been watching me
