Naruto: They Have Systems

Uchiha Yin grew thoughtful. He had no idea Tsunade was coming this time entirely because of him.

"Tsunade, I never thought you'd want to take on a student. We're thinking exactly alike!"

The man who spoke had red markings at the corners of his eyes, like tear tracks, and spiky white hair. He burst out laughing.

A slightly lecherous smile crossed his face as he spoke to Tsunade, a hint of affection in his voice.

Jiraiya was one of Tsunade's teammates, and he had feelings for her.

"Jiraiya, Tsunade's different from you. You might simply want a student, but Tsunade's thinking about the future Nine-Tails Jinchuriki, isn't she?"

Beside Jiraiya stood a pale young man with black hair that reached his shoulders. His face was cold, and one look at his slit-pupiled eyes was enough to make anyone feel the pressure.

It was Orochimaru in his youth, another of Tsunade and Jiraiya's teammates.

Compared with the carefree Jiraiya, Orochimaru had a far keener sense for politics.

The moment he heard Tsunade wanted to take on a student, that was where his mind went.

"Kushina is one reason, but I also want to see if there are any promising students."

"Of course, you two can look for anyone who catches your eye as well."

Tsunade did not deny what Orochimaru had said.

She knew her actions would draw plenty of attention. As the Konoha Princess, everything she did was watched closely.

That was why she had brought Jiraiya and Orochimaru along to watch this "very boring" practical combat class.

And it really was boring. Tsunade and the others had long since reached Pseudo-Kage Level. Watching a group of children spar was like watching beginners play a game when you were already among the best.

If not for the task the system had given her, Tsunade would not have bothered coming.

"Lady Tsunade, Lord Jiraiya, Lord Orochimaru."

When the Chunin instructor saw Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru arrive at the training ground, he bowed respectfully, excitement plain on his face.

They had yet to become the Sannin who would one day be famous throughout the Shinobi World, but as students of the Third Hokage, they were already well known in Konoha.

Tsunade and the others nodded back to the Chunin instructor.

"Class, for today's practical combat lesson, we'll follow the year-end assessment format. Everyone will draw lots to determine their matchups, and we'll keep going until we find the strongest among you."

The Chunin instructor spoke with a smile.

Since Tsunade and the others wanted to assess the students and possibly take on disciples, he could not run the lesson as he normally would.

So the Chunin instructor took the year-end assessment as his model and decided to have them draw lots.

Winners would advance, losers would be eliminated, and first place would be decided in the end.

A student who performed well in combat might also become a disciple of Tsunade, Jiraiya, or Orochimaru—and thus a disciple of the Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi's disciples.

The thought made the Chunin instructor a little envious.

After all, becoming the Hokage's grand-disciple was something to envy.

Seeing the still-young Sannin stirred something in Uchiha Yin's heart.
