Minister Suzaku moved quickly. After Uchiha Yin and the Son of Heaven left the palace in the Land of Ancestors, he led his men inside that very night.
There were plenty of spies from the Land of Pi in the Land of Ancestors' army. Otherwise, Minister Suzaku could never have timed his move so perfectly.
The Land of Pi's military was far stronger than the Land of Ancestors'. No wonder it had seemed so unconcerned about the war.
Outside, Kaguya sat on a small stool in the courtyard, gazing up at the sky.
The Land of Ancestors seemed untouched by pollution. The stars shone clearly overhead, beautiful beyond words.
"Lady Kaguya, can't you sleep? We'll keep you company." Aino and Aiya sat down beside her.
Kaguya glanced at Aino and Aiya but did not refuse.
Aino and Aiya were used to her manner. They knew that although Kaguya usually wore a blank expression, she was kind—gentle, even.
They had met some of the Son of Heaven's consorts, and some were downright sharp-tongued and cruel. Kaguya was nothing like them.
As the three of them admired the moon, countless arrows flew in from outside the palace.
"Enemy attack! Fight back!" a guard shouted.
But the guards were no match for the attackers. One after another, they fell.
Before long, Minister Suzaku's men had completely surrounded the building.
"So this is where you were hiding." Minister Suzaku looked at Kaguya's beautiful face, his leering grin widening.
"Who are you? Do you know who this is? This is Lady Kaguya!" Aino and Aiya stepped in front of Kaguya Otsutsuki.
As Kaguya's attendants, Aino and Aiya respected her from the bottom of their hearts.
"So what? I'm from the Land of Pi!"
"This country is about to fall. Everyone in it belongs to me."
