The night passed in a flash. The next morning, the sun rose slowly.
Warm sunlight slipped through the window and the gaps in the white gauze curtains, falling across the sheets.
Before long, the sheets stirred. Someone underneath seemed to have woken up.
Karura opened her eyes groggily and tried to shift as she usually did. Before she could move, a tearing pain shot through her.
She looked down. The cloak she had worn had long since been torn to shreds, and she could hardly tell what it had once looked like.
Just then, Uchiha Yin's arm around her moved slightly.
Karura hurriedly closed her eyes and pretended she was still asleep.
She felt him lie still at first. After a while, he gently eased his arm away from her and slipped quietly out of bed.
