Seeing Rin's shy expression, Kurenai burst out laughing.
"That's right. We don't know a thing," Shizune declared earnestly. But the blush on her face and her suppressed giggles gave away what she was thinking.
After listening for so long, Anko finally caught on. She had a fair idea what Rin was going to do.
The look of sudden understanding on Anko's face made Rin even more embarrassed.
"Right, right, Rin. We don't know anything. Go on, don't worry about us." Anko waved her off.
"Anko, you... all of you! I'm not talking to you anymore!" Flustered by their teasing, Rin shook her fist at them and ran off.
As they watched Rin disappear into the distance, envy crept into Anko's and Kurenai's eyes.
Tu Susu, meanwhile, just blinked, her eyes wide. No one knew what she was thinking.
What's with them? Why are they being so mysterious?
"Kurenai, Anko, you two need to hurry up. You're the only ones left." Shizune had no idea what possessed her to say it.
"Shizune, what are you talking about? How could I possibly like that bastard?" Anko shot back at once.
Seeing how strongly Anko reacted, Shizune and Kurenai covered their mouths and laughed.
Anko realized she might have reacted a little too strongly.
"Argh, Shizune, you set me up!" But Anko wasn't about to let a little embarrassment get the better of her.
With a huff, she grabbed Shizune and started tickling her.
Shizune shrieked. "Ah! Hahaha! Anko, stop! I'm so ticklish! Hahaha! Kurenai, save me!"
After bringing Shizune down, Anko pressed her advantage and reached for Kurenai with one hand.
