"Now that Lord Yin has joined us, our forces are much stronger. Kirigakure, meanwhile, has fallen into turmoil over the Fourth Mizukage, and its strength has plummeted. If we don't attack the Land of Water now, we may never get another chance."
The ninja had a point. This was the best opportunity they would have to attack the Land of Water.
"No, I object. Everyone knows that to reach the Land of Water, we have to cross the sea. If our main force uses Water Walking all the way there, most of them will have next to no Chakra left when they arrive. We won't be able to attack, and Kirigakure will have us trapped."
Another ninja immediately spoke up in opposition.
Not everyone in Konoha's main force had vast reserves of Chakra. For most ninja, using one or two B-rank Ninjutsu was already their limit.
The Chakra required to cross the sea with Water Walking was more than many of them could spare.
"We could build ships," one ninja countered.
"Ships? What happens if the Mist Ninja spot them and destroy them?" another shot back.
Konoha was not like Kirigakure. Because of where their village was located, most Mist Ninja were skilled in the water. Konoha's ninja were nowhere near as capable.
What was more, Kirigakure's ninja were adept at Water Release and knew the Hidden Mist Technique. If fighting broke out at sea, Konoha would be at a tremendous disadvantage.
After all, most of the ninja here belonged to the Hyuga Clan or the Uchiha Clan.
The Hyuga Clan excelled at Taijutsu and the Byakugan, but their attack range was a serious weakness. At sea, that weakness would become even more pronounced.
Likewise, the Uchiha Clan excelled at Fire Release, but its power would drop considerably at sea.
