Giratina had abducted Darkrai's wife and then beaten Darkrai to a pulp.
Naturally, payback was coming.

And so Xu Mu arrived.
He hadn't come alone, either. He had brought Arceus and Eternatus with him.
Neither of them was fully grown yet, and neither had reached the peak of their fighting power.
But their identities alone were enough to make Giratina panic.
"Those are your reinforcements?"
Giratina sent Darkrai flying with a Dragon Tail, looking baffled.
You brought back a human Trainer with a Charizard to get revenge on me?
Are you sure about this?
Before Darkrai could answer, Charizard suddenly roared, "Roar!"
[Xu Mu, look! This guy's looking down on you!]
[Are you going to take that? Hurry up and have Eternatus beat him up!]
Charizard waved his arms around at Xu Mu's side, offering advice like a self-proclaimed genius strategist.
Xu Mu shoved him away.
"You're embarrassing yourself. Get over there and watch!"
The moment Charizard realized Xu Mu was letting him off, he excitedly fired a Flamethrower into the sky!
Hurray!!!
"Roar!"
[Xu Mu, you're the most handsome Trainer in the world.]
Charizard squeezed in one last bit of flattery before turning into a beam of red light and returning to his Poké Ball.
Xu Mu curled his lip. He hadn't actually intended to make Charizard fight Giratina head-on.
Giratina was a veteran Legendary Pokémon who had lived for who knew how many years. If Charizard faced him one-on-one right now,
there was probably no outcome except getting knocked out in a single blow.
Xu Mu had only been trying to scare Charizard.
But Giratina had actually dared to look down on him. Now that was interesting.
