Early the next morning, Xu Mu took Serena and Cynthia aboard Lugia.
They headed straight for Kale!
A man had to keep his promises!
Xu Mu had said that once he won the tournament and became the Wu'an Venerable, the first thing he would do
was find Kale and get engaged to Cynthia!
Now it was time to make it happen.
As for why he was still riding Lugia... Ahem. Xu Mu thought arriving on Lugia looked cooler than riding one of the Legendary Birds.
"Chief, bad news! Xu Mu is on his way here on Lugia!"
As Kale's secretary, he naturally knew things other people didn't.
For example, Kale had once thrown his weight around to bully Xu Mu, only to get beaten up by Xu Feng and his wife afterward.
The secretary insisted he hadn't seen any of it and knew nothing about it.
For some reason, though, he kept a close eye on Xu Mu's movements. Perhaps it was just part of his job.
And so, despite knowing nothing and remaining perfectly rational about it, the secretary called Kale.
The first thing he said was that warning.
Kale held the phone in a daze, a bitter taste in his mouth.
Should I... run for it now?
I'm the chief, for crying out loud. Wouldn't running away be too humiliating?
"I know. Don't worry. Just make sure everything's locked down. Don't let a word about what's happening here get out."
The secretary nodded. He understood—or at least, he understood enough.
Whatever the chief told him to do, he would do.
After hanging up, Kale let out a long breath.
He straightened his shirt and decided to put on a helmet.
Xu Mu held grudges, just like his dad. For all Kale knew, the kid enjoyed punching people
