Chariot heard Lovers' words and looked at him with contempt.
It seemed these people had no intention of telling him why they wanted him dead.
Fine. If they wanted to do this the hard way, Chariot would make sure they paid for it.
In the eyes of Chariot and Justice, Rage, Lovers, and the Wheel of Fortune
were clearly eliminating rivals to secure higher positions with Tarot.
Yet they stood there pretending to speak ill of Tarot. Chariot couldn't stomach it.
Lovers saw Chariot's expression and said to Rage,
"Rage, stop wasting words on these fools. Just kill him!"
Rage glared fiercely at Chariot and said,
"You could have taken the road to heaven, but you chose to storm the gates of hell!"
"I wasn't planning to kill you, but if you're determined to die, don't blame anyone else!"
With that, Rage moved to throw a Poké Ball into the middle of the battlefield.
Just then, a voice reached everyone's ears.
"Is this how you carry out a mission?"
The sudden voice struck fear into everyone on the battlefield.
Chariot and Justice looked delighted.
Lovers and the Wheel of Fortune were filled with terror, while Rage looked eager for a challenge.
Chariot hurriedly called out to the owner of the voice,
"Father, they're rebelling! They've already killed Hermit!"
He looked sorrowfully at Hermit lying on the ground.
Tarot merely glanced at Hermit and said nothing about him.
Instead, he turned toward Rage.
"Rage, I've treated you well. Why are you so determined to kill me?"
Only then did Rage realize how Tarot had learned what was happening here.
When Rage and the others had first set out, Rage had let a trace of murderous intent toward Tarot slip.
It hadn't been particularly
