Shen Qi used the Magic Book to turn small acting jobs into a role in The Return of the Condor Heroes while taking extra work to support his family. The arc left him with more jobs ahead and Jin Sha determined to become famous and win him over.

• Shen Qi recorded performances on the Magic Book, landed the Demon Dao Sage Lord role in Legend of the White Snake, and later joined Judge of the Song Dynasty as an extra.
• Shen Qi auditioned for My Own Swordsman, won the role of Ji Wuming, and improved under Shang Jing’s coaching while befriending the cast.
• After wrapping his scenes, Shen Qi studied swordsmanship with Wen Jingrou and auditioned for Yin Zhiping in The Return of the Condor Heroes.
• Shen Qi impressed Cao Baoping by reproducing Xu Yajun’s performance and accepted the role of Bear Fourth in The Wrath of the Honorable.
• Shen Qi demonstrated his acting and swordsmanship at Zhang Jizhong Studio, won the role of Yin Zhiping, and was also offered a part in Migrant Workers.
• Shen Qi took a music video job with Jin Sha, declined Lin Jinhua’s invitation to build a career in Taiwan, and agreed to consider future work that fit his schedule.
• Shen Qi sent his music video pay home for his younger sister’s tuition, while Jin Sha resolved to become famous and win him over.

Shen Qi improved his acting on Migrant Workers and then joined The Return of the Condor Heroes, where his skill and quick actions earned respect from the cast and crew. He arranged a possible Hong Kong film role while growing closer to Liu Yifei on set.

• Shen Qi joined the Migrant Workers production with Huang Qidao, learned to portray Ju Shuangyuan, and helped the crew with farmwork and local tasks.
• After Kang Honglei critiqued his acting, Shen Qi studied Fan Ming’s performance and improved, then returned to Capital City and began training for The Return of the Condor Heroes.
• Shen Qi learned swordplay and horseback riding, bonded with Lü Bu, and rescued Huang Xiaoming when a runaway horse threw him into cold water.
• Shen Qi declined Huang Xiaoming’s offer of a car, learned his character had been renamed Zhen Zhibing, and studied acting techniques with Li Mingqi.
• Shen Qi filmed scenes with Liu Yifei, helped protect her on set, and fell into the water with her near a waterfall before the crew rescued them.
• Wu Shuixing secured Shen Qi a fighter role in a Hong Kong triad film, and Shen Qi learned Cantonese and contacted the production.
• Shen Qi and Liu Yifei grew closer, and Shen Qi completed their intimate scene in one take, sparing her further retakes.
