Xu Feng glanced at the time. It was broad daylight, noon, with clear skies. Whoever it was probably hadn't come to collect a corpse, which made this strange.
Xu Feng had never seen anyone come visiting at this hour.
Everyone who came to the Earth God Shrine wanted something. Uncle Sun, the Yellow River Corpse Collector, was no exception, and neither were the Qian Family's servants.

After a moment's hesitation, Xu Feng went to check on Master.
Master was still asleep. Xu Feng didn't disturb him. Instead, he picked up the Broken Blade to defend himself.
The blade was broken, but that didn't mean it was useless. He went to the door and, before opening it, called, "Who is it?"
A voice called back, "It's me, your Uncle Liu!"
It sounded like Uncle Liu, so Xu Feng slid back the bolt and peered out cautiously.
Through the narrow opening, he saw Uncle Liu standing there without a care. Xu Feng hid the blade, opened the door wide, and said, "Uncle Liu, you're here!"
Uncle Liu waited at the threshold until Xu Feng had opened the door completely.
Only then did he enter. "You're a sharp lad. If those foolish boys of mine had even half your sense, I'd be delighted!"
As he came in, he gave Xu Feng's head a pat, like an elder indulging a junior.
Then he headed inside.
"Is your master here?"
Uncle Liu asked as he passed Xu Feng, more to make conversation than anything else.
