Everyone followed the old man's gaze to another spot in midair.
Gasps broke out all around.
The young man with the battered dark-gold crown on his head was hovering in midair too.
Luke looked down at the hemispherical crater in the ground, shaken by how close it had been.
That was close.
If he hadn't reacted in time, the terrifying heat might have burned straight through his clothes. Then wouldn't he have ended up stark naked?
How was he supposed to keep fighting like that?
The old man dropped his earlier air of superiority. "You..." he said, startled and uncertain.
Luke ignored him. Looking at the golden orbs floating around the old man, he couldn't help saying, "What incredible destructive power."
"Y-you... Who exactly are you?"
The old man stammered for a long time before finally getting the words out.
"Me?" Luke scratched his head and said thoughtfully, "I'm just an ordinary, unremarkable person."
He sounded completely sincere, but to the old man, it was a cutting insult.
The old man took several deep breaths and calmed himself.
Whatever means his opponent had used to evade that attack, no one could possess the power to challenge a god.
Especially not under such a powerful debuff.
The old man regained his confidence, but he no longer underestimated Luke.
Whether his opponent's escape had been luck or not, Luke had crossed an enormous distance in an instant and could fly just as he could. His strength was clearly not to be taken lightly.
The broadcast camera switched to Luke in midair as well. Only then did some slower-on-the-uptake spectators realize he was still alive—which meant the match wasn't over.
Once their surprise passed, the spectators began applauding him.
Elsewhere in the stands, the stunning Psykos had no time to join the applause.
