After the meeting ended, everyone got up and left.
Queen Maeve had just risen when Homelander stopped her.
"Wait. There's something I want to discuss with you."
Queen Maeve's expression changed. Homelander had singled her out, and it couldn't be for anything good.
Once everyone else had left, Homelander walked up to Queen Maeve and looked her in the eye. "You know what I'm going to ask, don't you?"

"What's your connection to that Young Man?" Since Queen Maeve was playing dumb, Homelander got straight to the point.
Homelander stared into Queen Maeve's eyes. As he asked the question, he caught the slightest change in them.
"There is no connection. I don't even know him."
Homelander laughed.
There had to be some connection between the Young Man and Queen Maeve. Otherwise, he wouldn't have singled her out for an attack.
