Most people did not know that these villas belonged to Vought International.

The villas were not luxurious, but they had everything a resident needed. Each had a garden and a small pool out front. A tall wall enclosed the entire development, with a camera mounted every hundred meters. Security was tight.

No one could enter the development by land without passing through a checkpoint or setting off an alarm.

But they could enter from the air.

A blue figure streaked over the villas.

He landed on the lawn in front of one of them.

In the yard, a blond Boy crouched beside a pile of Autobots toys.

He was playing make-believe with the Autobots by himself.

"Woo-hoo!" Holding the Autobots figure with its arms spread wide, the Boy swooped it through the air as though it were flying.

A rush of air pulled the Boy out of his game and back to reality.

Homelander landed on the lawn, his cape billowing high behind him from the speed of his flight.

The Boy looked puzzled at first. Then his eyes lit up.

Though he had grown up under close surveillance, the Boy's childhood had otherwise been much like any other child's. He was not cut off from the world.

The blond man in the blue bodysuit was every child's idol.

He appeared on screens and in children's magazines more often than all the other members of The Seven combined.

"Mom, come look!" the Boy
