After getting the Cloak of Levitation, Ryan tried it on and discovered that a Magic Artifact really did choose its owner.

He draped the Cloak of Levitation over his shoulders, and its fabric wrapped around his neck.

He tried to take a couple of steps in the Cloak of Levitation, and the Cloak covered his eyes.

Ryan felt that he and the Cloak simply didn't get along. His temper had improved a lot by now.

Back in the world of The Boys, he would already have roasted the Cloak inside and out with Laser Eyes.

Instead, he merely hung the Cloak on the coat rack.

Ryan had lived for many days in the little room Kaecilius had assigned him.

He looked around at its plain furnishings. Perhaps Sorcerers had few material desires; the room was drab, with nothing but gray walls and a brown bed.

Ryan thought of the world of The Boys, which had already claimed a corner of his heart.

Becca, Homelander, and Starlight. He remembered the drink spilling onto his computer's power supply at the very beginning. It all felt as vivid as yesterday.

As he thought about them, a sudden knock came at the door. Ryan snapped back to the present. "Come in."

The door swung open, letting light spill into the room. Kaecilius stepped inside and immediately spotted the Cloak on the coat rack. "Not wearing it?"

"It likes the coat rack more than my shoulders." Ryan shook his head. He wasn't going to force the Cloak to stay on him.

Kaecilius, however, hadn't come to see the Cloak. He was finally ready to set his plan in motion—a plan that went against the wishes of the Sorcerer Supreme, The Ancient One.

It was a plan that would shock all of Kamar-Taj, and Kaecilius wanted
