That same year, construction began on Snow Mountain Fortress. It took more than four centuries to build a stronghold capable of holding back the demons, and it stood until five years ago.
Beset by threats from without and troubles within, the fortress that had protected the people of the Northern Frontier for centuries fell.
Finally, the Old Housemaster told Annan about the two fallen royal families: the Benitez Family and the Jana Family.
"The Jana Family?"
A certain woman's naked body flashed through Annan's mind. "Why didn't Brino Jana tell me about this?"
"The Jana Family spent centuries at Snow Mountain Fortress doing nothing but killing and sleeping. They turned into Barbarians. What would they know?"
Annan was hardly in a position to criticize. The Reeves Family hadn't left any information behind either.
"What exactly happened in the Abyss?"
"No idea. Give it up. The Twelve Kings swore an oath that nothing that happened in the Abyss would ever be revealed."
"That's ridiculous. They paid such a high price for that information, then acted as if nothing had happened?"
"How can you disrespect your ancestors!" the Old Housemaster scolded Annan. "Leave remarks like that to me from now on. You shouldn't say them."
"I'll leave it to you, then... What about the underground Ruins beneath Snow Mountain Fortress?"
"What Ruins?"
He really is getting old, Annan thought, and told him about the underground Ruins and the beautiful woman again.
"Never heard of them. Could they be fortifications the Ancient Wizards and Arcanists built to resist the demons?" Clearly, the Old Housemaster knew no more than he did.
"It's getting late. Please get some rest." Seeing that the Old Housemaster still wanted to keep him there talking, Annan pushed Eldest Sister out of the Embassy. He wasn't going to get any
