Annan talked the baron out of it. A two-hour magic film only cost ten silver coins. How much could that earn him? He might as well buy more things.

But after escaping one trap, Annan ran straight into someone he knew.

Afraid someone he knew would recognize him, Annan lowered his head and walked past. He was stopped anyway.
"Stop."
Annan pretended not to hear and kept walking, but two knights steered their horses across his path.
Annan pressed a hand to the baron's shoulder to keep him from acting, then looked up. "Were you calling me, Knight?"
Olin's assessing gaze passed over the baron and settled on Annan. "You..."
"I'm Dramon. I'm accompanying my uncle Kelly to Montreal Mountain to visit a friend." The words tumbled out of Annan in a rush.
Olin fell silent. She looked Annan up and down, her gaze stopping at his boots. Understanding dawned in her eyes.
Annan felt inexplicably annoyed. If he hadn't been afraid the baron and the Chaos Cult believers watching him from the shadows would notice, he would have demanded to know what she meant by that look.
Come to think of it, how had she recognized me?
Olin withdrew her gaze and led her squad on down the street.
