Rain Man looked at him with newfound respect, voiced his agreement, and dispersed his Pure Water Hand.

The man raised his head, his gaze seeming to pierce the rock and reach the sky.

My lord, what were you thinking, pinning your hopes on this lot?

"What are you doing, fighting? Mind if I join in?"

"It's over." Prince Aidan straightened his collar.

Strangely enough, though he looked like a shapeless mass of gray mist, his clothes had been pulled askew and one eye was bruised.

"What a shame. Your name's Olmedo Just Right, isn't it? Let's have a fight sometime," Rain Man said eagerly.

Annan turned him down flat. "I'm not fighting you."

"Why not?"

"I don't want a scandal going around about how a male succubus fought an enemy and left him dripping all over the floor."

Footsteps sounded. Albeck turned and left, taking the man and a suddenly listless Rain Man with him.

Annan started after them, but Prince Aidan stepped into his path, bruised eye and all, blocking him from following Albeck.

"Don't go near him. You're not yourself, and he's surrounded by watchers."

Annan fought down the urge to tear into Aidan again for saying he wasn't himself, then nodded.

Once he calmed down, he shuddered at how strongly his succubus bloodline affected him. His emotions were like floodgates: crack them open, and closing them again became almost impossible.

And that's just a succubus. They're on the side of chaos, but they still have a touch of order. The effect on demons must be even worse... No wonder they never listen to reason.

Come to think of it, Evelyn's mother was incredible. She managed to join the Faction despite such a powerful influence working against her.
