Annan and Beludona were embarrassed.
One had infiltrated the demons without even the Succubus Queen seeing through him. The other had disguised herself as a demon and opened a tavern in the McKennan Ratfolk capital. Yet they had been exposed by a Little Demon.
Annan quickly backed away, putting Beludona in front of him as a shield.
The anger they expected never came. Instead, a deep, weighty voice full of affection rang out, drawing jealous looks from the Little Demons:
"My children, I'm very pleased with your thoughtfulness... From now on, I'll leave the cooking to you."
The Rotting Tyrant looked forward to the two Little Demons using their ingenuity to bring him more surprises.
The good news was that the Rotting Tyrant had not attacked them.
The bad news was that poison strong enough to kill a Dragon was merely "a surprising dish" to the Rotting Tyrant.
Annan and Beludona exchanged a look. Since the Rotting Tyrant himself was looking forward to more, they would give him more!
As they carried the Cooking Pot back, Annan muttered, "Are you sure whoever sold it to you didn't swindle you? Can this stuff really poison a Dragon?"
"My uncle gave it to me."
"Then maybe it's expired. Old folks have a habit of keeping things past their expiration dates."
Whatever the case, poison seemed no different from seasoning once it entered the Rotting Tyrant's mouth.
Beludona had brought several poisons, and Annan urged her to add the rest together.
"Poisons can cancel each other out. Mixing them won't necessarily make them deadlier."
As she spoke, Beludona took out a dose of corrosive venom extracted from a green dragon's crop.
"The Rotting Tyrant may have high poison resistance, but green dragon venom is devastating to every living creature."
