Why were there so many revolting rats everywhere?
Covered in ratfolk blood and gore, Black Pearl felt filthy. She desperately needed an underground river to bathe in.
Following the sound of water, Black Pearl reached a cavern with an underground river.
Ratfolk had built a nest there. Several fires burned, and a few iron cages piled with bones hung over the subterranean stream.
Black Pearl crushed every ratfolk in her way. She sent the iron cages and bones clattering like wind chimes, then plunged into the underground river, rolling and thrashing in the cold, clear water to wash away the blood and grime.
Her arrival enraged the master of this place. A Greyfur Rat charged out with a squad of Elite Rats and shrieked at the Black Dragon thrashing in the water, "Black Dragon! What are you doing here?"
Splash!
The Black Dragon's fearsome head rose from the underground river, water cascading off it. Her Vertical Pupils, marking her as one of the Allen Continent's greatest predators, fixed on the tiny vermin before her. "I should be asking you that... What are you doing in my cave?"
"Your cave? We've been here for months!"
"What?! You dared spend months in my cave? Die, rats!"
Black Dragons were evil by nature, and these ratfolk had chased her all this way. Black Pearl had no intention of letting them go.
The Greyfur Rat shrieked, "You Black Dragon thing! If you kill me, the Clan won't forgive you!"
"Oh."
Black Pearl answered coldly, then blasted the rat and its followers to ash with a single breath.
No one threatened a Black Dragon.
Her Vertical Pupils shifted to the Elite Rats standing farther away, the ones who had escaped the blast. Her gaze bore down on them. "As for you... I need food!"
