Late at night, a figure slipped silently into Annan's Bedroom and stopped beside the sleeping boy's bed.

The clouds parted, and silver moonlight spilled through the window, revealing Leila beside the bed. She gazed at Annan with conflicted eyes, a Dagger in her hand.

While she still hesitated, the Bedroom door suddenly opened, and a long, narrow shadow stretched into the room.

"You're Annan's Sister?" the figure outside asked softly.

Lei turned and shielded Annan behind her, staring at the pointed-eared silhouette in the doorway. "Who are you?"

"I'm Della, the Warden of Star-Moon Bay and Annan's... Guard."

"I've heard of you."

Lei shifted her stance. Instead of shielding Annan, she held the dagger to his throat.

"I know you won't kill him... Would you like to talk somewhere else?"

Lei nodded in silence, put away her dagger, and stepped out of the room with the elf whose name sounded a little like hers.

The closed door shut out the faint light flickering inside the Glass Bottle and the sight of Annan's sleeping face.

"Teacher Asimov! Teacher Asimov!"

The Girl who appeared in the forest could see neither the towering Tower nor the magnificent Royal City. Knowing the past was gone, she collapsed into the grass and wept.

Her cries drew an unwelcome visitor. The bushes behind her rustled, and a pale beast burst out, cutting the Girl's sobs short.

Just as the pale beast was about to reach her, an Arrows sliced through the air and pinned it to a tree, revealing it to be a White Wolf.

Her crying faltered for an instant, then rose louder than ever. "Teacher Asimov! Waaaaah!"
